Happy Jack Posted March 23, 2018 Posted March 23, 2018 (edited) This is what I originally bought: Lovely wood, crap pickup, messed-about electrics, dodgy tort p/g, useless tuners. This is what it looks like now: Lovely wood, a pair of beautiful Lollar P/J pickups which sound unbelievably lush, professionally re-wired electrics, anodized p/g, proper elephant ears. In case you're wondering, the flick-switch is a DFA Control. Controls are Volume / Pan / Tone. That headstock guarantees that your bass is safe at any pub gig. No one is going to steal it, thinking it might be worth a fortune. Collection from HA1 3RG or WC1E 7BD. Edited April 9, 2018 by Happy Jack
oldslapper Posted March 23, 2018 Posted March 23, 2018 I have a Maya unlined fretless P. It's my only bass. I think they're lovely basses. Better quality than a lot of japcrap from the same era. Also, if you forget what sort of instrument you're playing, you only have to glance at the headstock.
Lozz196 Posted March 23, 2018 Posted March 23, 2018 DFA Control, know I wonder what that does......................
tom1946 Posted March 23, 2018 Posted March 23, 2018 I think when you flick it you become an ace bass player, or it might be a kill switch?
ead Posted March 23, 2018 Posted March 23, 2018 DFA = Don't F*** Around - Gives you a belt from the mains if you twiddle too much. The switches alternates between "Stun" and "Kill" settings. 1 2
Happy Jack Posted March 23, 2018 Author Posted March 23, 2018 Ta very muchly. Nice wood + great pickups = superb tone.
Happy Jack Posted April 4, 2018 Author Posted April 4, 2018 In answer to a PM, I'm not minded to break this for parts. It's a lovely bass as it is, and I'd rather keep it than break it.
