Got a 2002 Mexican fender active deluxe jazz bass for sale but no interest yet, but tempted to keep it and make it passive. BUT the Jack input is on the edge of the bass..not the control plate.
So can you get a control plate without the Jack input?

Don't you mean 'can you get a control plate with the jack input'? If you want to bypass the active elements you could replace the active control plate with a passive one with jack built in, assuming the pickups would work passively?

What about this setup;

my basses are done like stack knob jazzes but not stacked.

Works really well and the jacks come out of the side.

Kiogon of this parish would make you such a kit...or.

I could swap my 4 pot set up for your preamp?

Fancy having the fretted one active.

At the risk of sounding dumb, could you not just use a standard jazz plate and use the front mounted jack, and just leave the side body mounted jack to cover the hole and then you have it if you ever want to go back to active??
Another option would be to get a mark hoppus scratch plate and add an addition hole?

OR, after googling, you could just get a stacked jazz control plate lol. £20 online and you are away 😉
