MichaelDean
I'm here to recommend Steve at Hawker Repairs Guitar Workshop in Bristol. https://www.facebook.com/hawkerrepairs I used the original strap button screws when I put strap locks on my Combustion. 4 years later, the screw failed (due to it being a countersunk screw, not a flat top) leaving me with a lot of screw embedded in the top horn. He got it out, dowelled it and refinished the area with a perfect transparent blue colour match. He also did a stainless steel refret on my Mustang during lockdown. I'm really pleased with that too. TheGreek
New luthier in the Hatfield, Hertfordshire area: https://www.kerseyguitars.com/ Matt installed the Aguilar OBP2 for me after two others let me down. He's a nice fella and knows what he's talking about. I'll probably put a few bob in his pocket in the years to come.

Could make for a rewarding trip.

This is his current address: Jim Fleeting update: he's still in Stockport, but now in Pear Mill (on the fourth floor, next to Stockport Studios). I took the Jazz in to get a couple of neck dings sorted out and a professional setup for once, and he did an excellent job which was both quicker and slightly cheaper than his original estimate, so I came away a happy bunny. I can also confirm that he's a top bloke to chat about basses with. Edited November 1, 2023 by nekomatic )
Muzz
Just a shout out on the Tech front for Matt Ryan - he's up in Milnrow, North of Manchester - I've had him do a couple of fret dresses/setups recently, and he's very good, he's done work for some big names, too... Schlippy
Had nothing but good experiences with Jim Croisdale of Jim's Guitar Workshop in Leeds, Jim's a lovely bloke who has done bang-up work on three of my basses now. Quick turnarounds and affordable prices, his website is at https://jimsguitarworkshop.co.uk/, he even offers a one day guitar tech course for those who want to learn the ins and outs of guitar setup and intonation etc.

samkeen
Hey folks. I need someone with tip top electrical knowledge. I have a custom Stambaugh bass I had made a few years back. Gorgeous construction, but the electronics are complicated (4 band, piezo and a graphtech midi system all fighting for space) and I’ve had problems with it. Unwanted noise, batteries draining, all sorts. Something’s awry in there somewhere. I’m in Devon, any recommendations for experts in the South West much appreciated. Thanks! Not a strictly a Luthier but RussAudio, who is just outside Camborne, comes highly recommended by everyone down here. He seems to be able to fix almost anything. https://russaudio.business.site/

madshadows
Anyone needing any work in South East London for bass or guitar I would recommend John from STRING KING GUITAR WORKS in Charlton, my Sire M2 bass had a problem with the wiring on the jack socket, he fixed it (after my bodged attempt !!) in under a day, I dropped it off yesterday at 10.30am and picked it up at 10am today, great work and all for a reasonable £34 inckuding two new batteries for the active circuit Website link below John https://www.stringkingworks.co.uk/

Been using Bass Gallery in Camden and they're fine, but this is a lot closer to where I live!
