This evening after work, I managed to get a few shots of my Sterling Ball refinish project in the sun. I've decided to start an additional thread here so that anyone interested in seeing the Status replacement neck with a colour tint can find it easier...and I just really wanted to show it off if I'm honest. One last time, it started black, it's now blue metal flake, Delano pickup, East Pre, Hipshot ultralites and detuner and Schaller straplocks. With the neck, I was going to go with standard black with face dots, in the end I opted for their blue tint and no dots. I wanted to do another round of pictures as the neck tint is quite hard to capture. Jimryan Posted June 15, 2015 Author Share Posted June 15, 2015 The biggest change in sound was when I installed the pickup and pre. When I installed the neck, the sustain went through the roof and the tone was even and consistent throughout the fretboard. When I first put it on, it also got a brand new set of strings. The thought was put it together, string it to tension and after a few days make the truss road adjustments and add a shin if required, all I did was adjust action and leave it. A couple of days later I went to check it and not only did the truss rod not need adjusting, it was still perfectly in tune too. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
