hey all, I couldnt find any threads relating to VM Precisions and any pimping or mods so here we go......................

I'll kick this off with details of mine with pics to follow

VM Precision in white

pickups changed to Fender Original '62 reissues
pots and wiring upgraded to cloth wiring, pio cap and cts pots with switchcraft jack
flat top chrome knobs
grover machines
gotoh 203 bridge

Squier VM Jazz neck which arrived with a replacement decal (need I say more?!) levelled and bevelled the frets myself, installed a new bone nut and sanded the finish on the back down so its smooth

all strung up with Rotosound 45-105 Flats

currently awaiting on delivery of a new tort pickguard and when that arrives I plan to rub the body down to take off the gloss look and give it a more matt feel / look

alot of changes and work to an already great bass but completely worth it!!!

My VM Precision was fine the way it came, new set of strings and that's all it needed. I've used it for a couple of gigs and a lot of rehearsal in the summer when I could leave it at our rehearsal room and go there by bike instead of car.

So much for that! It's now sporting a handsome Mighty Mite fretless neck.

I keep toying with the idea of getting one of these, namely a fretless Jazz. Since playing in a dirty heavy metal band I've not had a fretless for a couple of years, and I really miss it - especially since I've just made a Small Clone chorus pedal with a couple of mods.
