Has anyone tried or does anyone use DiMarzio straps?

I like the looks, and I've seen a lot of people using them but I don't know if I would trust my bass to the clip.
Any opinions?

I used to have one, it was good and the material seemed very smooth and flexible, good quality. However since I tried neoprene wide straps like Brooklyn Gear and Comfort Strapp I haven't looked back. Also with this strap when it is removed you still have a small (~1") slither of material with a female clip attached to the bass.

I've had the red 3" wide version of that on my main bass for something like 15 years - it's not a new design. The strap itself is like a nice soft car seat belt, and comes in different colours. The clip is solid when connected, never given me any concern. It's the kind of clip used on luggage, etc.

Note that the end you see doesn't attach to the bass - each socket is attached to a short length of strap that you screw in to the instrument, permanently replacing the existing strap buttons. This eBay seller is selling the other ends separately, which I don't remember being the case before. If you go for it, and your bass is of a decent weight, I would definitely recommend the wide 3" strap. (The one shown is the 2" version.)

I think the ends that you attach to the bass are in the box in the picture, but I may be wrong. I reckon the fact that you can't remove the strap ends would piss me off a bit, but having said that, I can't remember the last time I actually took the strap off my bass. I just wanted to gauge opinion on these straps, I'm using a 2" Ernie Ball strap and Dunlop StrapLoks, I'm not sure if this would be better or not. Definitely looks better IMO.

I now remember what annoyed me about my old one, when the strap is not attached the bit attached to the front horn of the bass hangs down and touches the neck. Not a problem if you never take it off, mind!

I've used one on a Jazz, no trouble with the clips, apart from when I put it in the case, tuck it in before you close the lid :) Oh! and they're very smooth too...so smooth you can do this..

Which reminds me: a certain Mr. Vai uses them. You can see how it looks on a guitar in this clip, and how he treats it. :)

Billy Sheehan's also featured here - it's one of his old Talas songs, Shyboy.

Now try that with the cable plugged in!
