Single-groove barrel bridges were fitted from 1969 onwards (with a long 'G' intonation screw) and the 'standard' single-groove barrel bridge appeared from 1972. My 1976 P is 100% original (I bought it in 1976) and it has single-groove barrels. Edit: I'm not saying there's necessarily anything wrong with this bass, by the way.
