charic
I still prefer the Tron soundtrack. When I'm sat here programming it don't half make me feel epic
chardbass
Fave track on the album though is 'Fragments of Time', it's got that west coast feel ala Steely Dan/Aja
Yes. Yes. Yes. I read a review which compared it to Hall & Oates but I heard it as Steely Dan. I have to say I LOVE this album- its not flawless but I can't stop listening to it. There's nothing particularly groundbreaking either, it just resonates with me. There are so many elements that I love on this album- the 80s session musician feel, the ballsy 5 string bass, the story telling in "Giorgio" (not verbal but musical- starting with that 70s click and ending with the dance kick drum), the trademark DP Discovery-esque solos. Regarding the change in direction I think we have to respect it- they have done Homework and Discovery, and those releases are part of DP history now. As they have matured I guess they wanted to show 'the kids' how they were influenced. I will be listening to this album for most of the summer but I reckon I'll be revisiting early Daft Punk, Donald Fagen and a whole host of goodies with John Robinson on :-)

paul h
With regards to Get Lucky... I want to like it. I like the music but I find it incredibly weak vocally and lyrically. I find no pleasure in listening to a 40 year old man laziliy and half assedly singing about "getting lucky". For me it falls into the same category as middle aged men singing about being in "da club". Decent lyrics...or at least less awfully juvenile ones and vocoders all the way through and it would be much better!

chrismuzz
Had no idea it was Daft Punk! Really catchy but I don't like it... the bass playing is pretty cool though I must admit!
Pete Academy
I've listened to the album a few times and, in my opinion, it's vastly overrated and over-hyped.
Wil
Catchy enough tune, heard it all before. Would dance to for sure. Doubt I'll be spinning the album again at home after first listen.
