Thanks- It will be my 2nd, won't let this one go!

Until Modulus resumes production (and they will I am sure) the sharks are circling!
One Dealer here in the States for example is asking full retail for the couple basses they have remaining in stock.

This wasn't bought as an investment or to flip, It CAME TO PLAY! B)

Yeah I always wanted one too. I've had a few Stingrays in my time, but I always wondered how they compared to each other?

From what I have heard, they are more 'hifi' and clear. Less of the tradtional Stingray rasp, more of a very clear and precise tone.

HELLO ! !

Could NOT wait for driver to deliver; so picked up about 2 hours ago- What a beautiful and toneful instrument. Modulus has some serious thunder, and I like everything about this! It does not feel like a 9-lb bass, bot it sounds like about a 109 lb bass! So well-done.
I think they differ from EBMM's for sure (Have a Bongo; had a Sterling); as a matter of fact I think they differ from any other natural wood neck & fingerboard instrument.
There is an inherent "snap" from the carbon-fiber necks and pheno boards, that and the in my case OBP-1 and MM Basslines pup create a bass worthy of being called FU! B)

England is fortunate to have Status in the homefield, I considered one available locally, and Rob was very cool in communications.
The Stealth is a GAS-giver to me.

I hope Modulus overcomes whatever its obstacles are; these are fantastic bass guitars, really!

I would imagine that Status proprietary pups and pre's gives them their own character, as well as the unique way Status lays-up their CF necks.

They sure make some killer-looking basses; the all-graphite Stealth is the business!

The "OG" of Modulus Geoff Gould has has own line, quite limited, of basses, called, well- G.Gould.
Don't know if you've had a look at them in the UK, but the one's I've seen are great, much like Modulus of course.

IME, a 'Ray holds it's own, it's a Ray! Ibanez ATK's do a good job of sparring with them; others too.

Don't know if I'd necessarily compare the FU to a 'Ray, the graphite adds so much character- Enough to state that they are both beasts.

I believe that there was a graphite-neck Anniversay 'Ray, no? Sure I've seen 'em virtually; that would be an interesting build and sound.

Whatever is going on with Modulus, they absolutely RULED in the build of my new FU4. I was having so much fun spanking out notes from it.

Understandable, this Modulus not Status feeling. They really don't have a lot in common except for the CF necks. After re-visiting my FU (all day! B) )
I'm aware of how the bass gets it's inherent tone from the SD Basslines MM / OPB-1 pre.
That, and the pheno board and CF neck bring the attack.

Status electronics differ from that I'm sure- Different, not better or worse.
The obvious answer is one (or 2) of each.
Where did I put my Money-Tree seeds??

Stunning bass Redburst, I was searching for a Modulus for many a year and luckily one become available here in Britain. An all original 1997 silver sparkle with Lane Poor and original hardshell case. I hope your new bass gives you a lifetime of enjoyment as I am sure it will.

On a side not, I was browsing the talkbass boards with a few folk rumoring Modulus may be in some spot of bother. Any info on this from any users would be appreciated.

There's a rumor mill starting; not a good thing. The dealer I purchased from is well-ensconced with Modulus. He told me directly that Modulus is going to gear up for more production; they are in the process of re-organization, but plan to continue building these fine instruments. I am confident he has the correct information.

One rather "bellicose" dealer posted, then retracted "No More Modulus!" then proceeded to offer for sale their remaining stock at an approximate 30% upcharge (i.e. full list price) from their previously posted pricing. Not very nice IMO.

The whole debacle started when (1) poster complained that he had not heard anything for over a month (!) regarding his instrument that was sent in for repair,
Modulus has never been a builder to interface with the consumer/player; they work through their Dealer network, besides, there aren't too many facets or options of their line-up that is not covered on their on-line catalogue or cannot be discussed with a dealer.
Some folks want to be coddled when buying an instrument I guess.
As a sidenote, with all the business goings-on, they (Modulus) DID contact the poster and his bass is on it's way back to him.
Some folks felt the need to crucify the company; kick it whilst down, without any shred of evidence or anything other than hear-say.
We'll see, but I'm wagering Modulus will return, better than ever. Perish the thought of them being gone from the market!

Pics-Tommori, I am sorry, I have no digital device, not even on my cell. I'll see if the GF can help out later.
The pic I did post IS my bass, from the Dealer's site... Maybe I can scan the Sales Receipt??\

Edit- Note that the instrument does not utilize the p/g (scratchplate) as shown; it was sent non-affixed & non-drilled, but I will not use it- The finish is too nice to cover!
