What Bass do you swear buy? Any thoughts on Sandberg?

No, not at all... but then I am not the one asking..
I am not sure the OP knows what he wants and is therefore flooding the forum with all sorts of questions about all sorts of kit. Not that that is a particuarly bad thing in itself, but the OP will soon get to know what HE likes
as opposed to what everyone else likes... which, on here, can be VERY diverse.

As it happens I do have a couple of very ****** basses which are very good and uber cool anyway. What other people make of them defines them ...

I have owned early Gibsons (SG) and Fender Presicion Basses , Epiphone Basses, but the one I have bought now is the

Ibanez SR700 , as far as i am concerned , I love it ,

Have tried to avoid Fenders for the last 20 years. May succumb to a late 70's jazz though to match the stingray.

Otherwise my natural finished Spector is the go to bass.

I love Musicman Basses, I've had a few now, but always find that the mid 90's ones tick boxes for me, newer and much older ones don't really. Old ones tend to suffer from heavy bodies, not great electronics, newer ones just miss the nice bits the old ones have. The early/mid 90's rays and sterlings come with best of both worlds.

Recently got my Sandberg Basic off TRBboy and really do like it, I wouldn't be disappointed if I paid for it new. This one definitly beats a lot of the Musicman basses I've had and tried.
Reminds me of loads of qualities from both Musicman and Warwick. The zero fret does make a difference to the quality of the open notes. The neck feels really nice, and IMO nothing like a fender at all, much much better.

I really like the finishes of some of the Sandbergs particularly the silver and gold ones and the plasma.

However I'm not so keen on the basic overall designs as they are still too Fender-influence for my tastes.

I've always been a Fender fan at heart , my first decent bass was a 60's stack knob re issue Jazz in the Mary Kaye finish (I have no idea why I sold this bass ??? But I'm blaming my girlfriend of the time :-D) from then over the last 20 odd years I've owned a couple of Yamaha Attitudes,BB5,Trb, 3 x Stingrays (2 4's & a 5 string HH) Streamer Jazzman LX 4 , Streamer Stage 1 5 ...... And after all this time I think I have the best pair of gigging basses I've ever owned , my 2 main basses are a Status Energy Artist 4 string, light,really fast comfortable neck and really good 2 band eq & Sandberg Basic Ken Taylor 5 , mahogany body with Cocobolo top again a really nice comfortable bass to play with a great eq and a fantastic B string , th Sandberg is the nicest 5 string I've owned ,looks good , great tones & comfortable and well balanced . I think both my current squeeze's benefit from having the zero fret , this is most noticeable on the Sandberg . I'm still a fender fan and own a couple but they only get the odd outing these days !

On a more serious note (no pun intended) my favorite basses have been Squiers. Not too expensive, but once in awhile you find a really sharp sounding one, and if it's set up and [i]stays[/i] set up you know it's a good one.
