Clarky
I posted this in the Flamenco thread I started but thought it was worth re-posting here in the DB forum as this is such lovely playing, both pizz and (at the end) arco http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VXt6htVi3C4

kevcooke
Renaud Garcia-Fons made me realise that I throw around the term virtuoso too loosely... I have his album 'La Linea Del Sur'. The title track is my favourite, beautiful music!

Bilbo
I think Fons is a monster musician but I think his material is quite weak (I have 5 of his cds and have reached the point where I can't listen to them any more - they grate). I would love to hear him performing compositions that are a little less two-dimensional. His tricks and licks get a bit samey after a while. And yes it is a high C, like mine
Gareth Hughes
Zombie thread hike - just saw this yesterday, thought you'd all enjoy it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ZNKLUHeJtg
Clarky
Just wow! Most amazing arco I've ever seen
Gareth Hughes
Sneaky bit I like is in the second tune, where he's plucking his C string with his left index finger whilst bowing a lovely repetitive pattern - adds a great new rhythm. Harrummph!!!!
MandShef
Wow, I've never heard bass played in this style before! Beautiful! Refreshing to see the instrument up front as a focal point, not just plonking away in the background. 5-strings as well! Loved it - thank you!
