nice workmanship, odd that he hasn't put a makers name on it though.

Like the hidden pickup, but it needs something for your thumb

I'm almost* in love. Does that make me a pervert?

* If it had a classic P pickup and no dot markers I would be head over heels. (Is that pickup more like a Ray-sounding sort of thing?)

I don't need another bass, I'm skint, and yet I feel a strange urge to make enquiries about a custom build...

Interesting bass, but this guy could definitely do with getting someone to proof-read his adverts ... I'd hesitate to buy from a luthier who generated so many typos and spelling mistakes, simply because it suggests that attention to detail isn't his strong suit.

And why give that amount of detail about the materials and the dimensions, but fail to give the weight?

My biggest concern would be: The neck has been set using both a tenon joint and 8mm Hard Maple dowels ...

So what happens if you need to remove and/or reset the neck? Either glue it or screw it, mate.

Read the very next line after your quote.

"..test played before the neck was glued to ensure that the joint functioned... "
