The hardware is mostly original - Grover machines, brass bridge with MAHOOSIVE brass saddles, twin DiMarzio P pickups, huge brass plate on the back. The neck is set into the body all the way to the bridge. It has fullsome mojo as you can see from the pics. It is 10lbs and 13ozs. The scale length is 32.75" ish. It has a pretty beefy tone with the twin P pickups in it. The controls are vol/vol/tone + pickup selector switch. The tone does not seem to be working. The neck has taken a knock at some stage in it's life and could usefully be given a couple of screws where the neckplate on a normal bass would be. It is absolutely solid and stable to work as it is with a medium action. If you are old you will remeber these. If not, then welcome to the 70's It a solid piece of US made craftsmanship. I am struggling to price it so am open to negotiation, but will probably start at £300 and see what happens. Owen Posted November 13, 2011 Author Share Posted November 13, 2011 I am presuming that it is the original finish, but I really do not know. There does not seem to be any additional finish on it. It is not the Hondo one, it is a made in the USA original. I will try and get some sharper shots when I can work out how to connect the proper camera to the puter. I can do better ones again (or at least try) if anyone wants anything specific. I have tried to show the butchers block construction of the body, that is lots of inch thick pieces of wood glued together and then cut to shape. Owen Posted November 13, 2011 Author Share Posted November 13, 2011 Hi Rich. The neck is stable. I'm afraid that a sideways F plate would be too big. It would need to be approx 2/3 of that size. The HUGE slab of brass down the back is kind of a neck plate which is holding the neck further down so it is certainly not going anywhere. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
