I LOVE this, it seems to help make the neck feel faster and easier to play. Regardless of the merits of Sandberg basses, he is unlikely to find one appreciably better than the rather nice bass that he has just acquired. If I may I would suggest that should consider spending a bit more time playing and getting used to that before setting off on a never-ending quest for the mythical ideal bass!! I can appreciate your point but what floats your boat might sink the OP's and viceversa, all we are saying to him for the umpteen time, is get down or up (depending on his geographical postition) to Guitar Guitar in Epsom and try those 3 Sandberg, and see what you make of them. It could be make or break but at least after that visit he would have his own opinion of them and not one which he has been spoonfed to him. About half an hour into the meal I started having a chat to the guy sitting opposite me. Turns out he didn't work for GG, but was in fact MD of Sandberg in the UK. This all sort of stems from the fact I have bought and sold without playing for far too long and I have always had to make some compromises with all the instruments I've had and think it's not really too much to ask to own a bass that ticks all my boxes. A lot of this stems from limited funds, experiments because of a mind corrupted by Basschat, and being a bit of a magpie I went to Nevada to buy a guitar, tried plenty and came out with a USA Fender Strat Deluxe. It is the most delightful guitar, suits me perfectly and I adore it. This happened because I tried them first. I plan to do the same with a bass. I will go to GG and try a bunch of basses. [/quote] The reason for the name changes was because in recent months fender have been bringing lawsuits against a lot of german bass manufacturers for patent infringement and the like. They infact actually got 3 closed down. Therefore, Sandberg changed their model names as a precautionary move for fear of being another victim. I preferred and still prefer the Sandberg, which is why I keep saying that one man's meat is another man's poison. You've got to try them before a shop owner try to convince you and sell you this or that bass! You need to make your own opinion and stop listening to people who's interest is bia$ed, capish?
