What is it worth?

Silly question I suppose (it's what people bid on it!)

Is this his 5 string Vigier? If so he was telling me that he was thinking of selling it and do I know anyone that might be interested in buying it. He has gone back to playing Precisions and just bought a couple more, a fretless and a fretted if memory serves me well.
The list price for a new one is £2500, although the current design differs in several ways from this example.
This is an older one , and I suspect it's a graphite neck model , and been painted over (the refin he mentined)
I've been watching this since it was on , and are suprised he's selling it .
I PM'd Ped , who is the guru on all things Vigier , and he'll probably come on and tell me I'm wrong :)

Thanks for the PM

It looks like a series III model with the 10/90 graphite neck system. Before it was painted I think it may be almost identical to the 5er I had for a while. Can't remember what I paid for mine but pretty sure it was over £1500.

Lovely sounding basses, quite individual in tone due to the pickup placement and construction. Also one of the most comfortable basses I have played. Only thing I didn't like was the relief of the neck. The older graphite weave necks like my series II have virtually no relief making them really flat and low. The series III had a credit card thickness which I think is more acceptable to most people. If you like the relief and action then you're set for life as these things never move!

Yeah painted in Dublin and he's going back to 4 string Precisions.

Derek's a top bloke, I nearly bought one of this old Wal's off him a while back and he had the decency to respond to a few questions I asked regarding his set-up for the Sons and Fascination and New Gold Dream Albums.

Great to see him back with the Fender P!

Anyone seen him playing Colours Fly and Catherine wheel on you tube?
