Mesa Boogie M-Pulse 600 head, Bronco case and footswitch and Mesa Boogie 1516BE EV cab (pics below, please excuse the gratuitous '63 Precision porn!)

It really is a bummer to be selling this rig. I’m playing DB in both bands now, and I haven’t really picked up an electric bass in about two months. Although a DB sounds monstrous through this, as I’m sure you can imagine, things can start to become less than portable, and given the size and volume levels at most of our gigs, there’s no point carrying this rig when I can the necessary tones from my Acoustic Image which is about 20% of the size.

I bought the head from Michael (WaterofTyne) about 10 months ago for around £900. I since bought a Mesa Boogie Bronco case for it, and you really do not want to know how much that baby set me back (I also have one of these for a Walkabout head if anyone's interested...)!

Details of the head are on Boogie’s website are here http://www.mesaboogie.com/Product_Info/Bas...-Pulse-600.html with the owner’s manual here http://www.mesaboogie.com/manuals/M-Pulse.pdf. Reviews can be found at http://reviews.harmony-central.com/reviews...-Pulse+600/50/1. Cheapest current price is around £1800, the version with the Bronco case somewhat more than that (having said that they do seem to be quite hard to find these days)
I won’t go into lengthy wordage about just how good this head is. If you’ve played a Walkabout head, imagine loads more power, headroom, tone shaping (5 band para), compression, remote switching etc etc.

The cab? What can I say that hasn’t already been said. It’s a full-range "array" cab, 1 x 15" / 1 x 10" / 2 x 6" / 1 x HF horn (adjustable output on rear), 450W, 4 ohm mono or 2x8 ohm stereo. Very transparent hi-fi tone, but still any amount of low end. Played by the greats (Macca, Flea, Beedster!).

Price-wise an extremely reasonable [s]£1250[/s] £1000 buys the lot as long as it's cash and you collect. No offers. Re splitting, I’d rather try and sell it as one rig at present, so if not here then eBay. If not there, I might split. Trades/PX welcome. I’m always interested in top-end studio gear (FX, pre’s, mic’s). We're also looking for a small PA at present, and a second double bass wouldn’t go amiss at present.

And I can’t post this so we’d need to work out a meeting or collection

Chris

Hey,

hmmm the temptation....

I could quite comfortably do with one of these again, i had the same cab as shown, and managed to destroy it in a fairly epic way, but we wont go there.... its too painful.

well, so far as stuff to part ex with, im going to be long and give you a list of all the things im potentailly willing to trade. get back to me with any interests you might have. I can add some cash to a deal or item to see this happen, but im not the richest person right now.

Spector euro lx4 in black black cherry
fender (mex) 5 string with attached GK3B midi pickup
Roland Vbass
Ashdown 500w superfly head
Superfly 1x15 cab
superfly 2x8 cab
marshall MBb series 2 25w mini amp
marshall as50r acoustic amp
line6 spider 2 75w amp
Conklin bill dickens 7 string bass in wine red
1979 Clarissa roundback acoustic (action a little high)
Audio technica bass/guitar wireless system

Thats about the lot.

Let me know if you have any interest in anything. Russ.

Couple of trade offers on this so far, so to avoid wasting anyone's time further, things in which I'd be interested in talking PX or trade are, high quality studio gear (especially reverb/compression and mics), a decent double bass (possibly with cash from me depending on the instrument), or a decent PA

Cheers

LOL, I'm not sure what Wayne's soul would be worth at current market values

Folks, this is a monster rig, anything you want with loads of ultra-clean headroom at VERY LOUD volumes if you need it,

and anything from slightly driven B-15 thump to smooth West Coast grunt at MONSTROUSLY LOUD volumes if that's your thing!

You know your guitarist is going to hate you for it, so go on. And whilst you're at it, watch the faces of the girls in the front row when you hit those deep internal-organ tickling lows!
Crazy price. Can't believe any of you guys with a regular paying gig haven't snapped this up.
Cheers John
If my regular paying gig demanded it, it wouldn't be going for sure! Main reason for selling is that both my regular paying gigs requires upright now, and having through that route started to appreciate the benefits of going though the PA, I suspect even with electric gigs, that's what I'll be doing in future (my Acoustic Image stuff with a Sansamp ahead of it is tiny and perfect for monitoring). I don't think I'll be devastated if it doesn't sell, but as I suggested above, I could do some better things with a grand at present than keep this in my spare room unused.
Hope all's well mate
Chris

I'm probbaly going to list this on ebay tonight, but thought I'd mention that I'm travelling up the M2, around the M25, and a little way up the M1 on Saturday, so could drop this off or meet up with anyone who fancies bunging me a grand :)

Cheers

Chris
