nick
Good for you - doesn't do any harm to live dangerously now & again. Got a similiar thing too, though myself in a couple of weeks. Who's the band?

machinehead
I've done this myself quite a few times. It always turns out better than you expect. Keep calm and enjoy yourself. Frank.

Dropzone
Only done that once and never doing it again. My band cancelled a gig last minute and I got some muso friends who I have never jammed with together. It was like watching a train crash and having your fingernails pulled out at the same time. The other bad one was when the singer insisted on playing a song that none of us had listened to. He was in a little world of his own living the dream, whilst the rest of us were in the very real world of living the nightmare!!!
EssentialTension
with songs and a band i don't know without even a practice! Should be a laugh
A couple of weeks ago I went to a pub to see a band. I used to be in a different band with the guitarist. 'Hello', I said. 'Have you brought a bass,' he said, 'our bassist hasn't turned up.' Then he drove me home to collect my gear and we played two sets, including two songs I'd actually played before, and I got my £50. They got booked back there for January 30th. Edited November 12, 2010 by EssentialTension
