I need the money atm! my bass students have all but disappeared and my band get paid peanuts for shows (enter violins) Looking to start or join a covers band on the wedding circuit. [/quote] I hear you - seems to be one of the popular misconceptions that bands who play on big stages and with big artists have loads of dosh. I've done a few big gigs/radio/tv etc, and get paid more doing pub gigs now than i ever did in front of sh*t loads of poeple. More power to you Capt Bass, you're a great and stylish player. Give a guess how much my old band got when we supported My Chemical Romance when their album was #1 in the UK charts- and we were their only opening act........ £50 a night - not each - thats £50 for the whole band!!!!!!!! -a night When we questioned this the promoter (our contact at SJM Concerts) said that we should be happy because we beat plenty of bands that were offering thousands to do the tour. I often wonder if he was pocketing something???? although I have heard many similar stories on the road!!
