1. Need the money to pay for a MM SUB bass bump
2. Now buying a MM. It may not be a ray but I'm looking for a sub
3. How disgusting, however now I have an idea as to what 3 jazz coils would sound like for my next project bass.
4. I guess I kinda did the ultimate test. I hooked te driver into my oranges effects return, which cuts out the nice warm tubes. With the parrallel out feeding my orange ad140 (all tube) First I worked on getting a flat signal through driver. I A/B with the dry signal until I got something I couldn't distinguish between them. When setup like this it takes away the apparently "colouring" pre-amp stage. For anyone else wanting a flat(ish) signal with the box engaged I notched the bass a tad up, between 12 and 1, the mid at 3 with mid frequency set at 750 then notched treble to nearly 11. Great now I have my dry signal (surprisingly nice) a flat signal through the box and an all tube amp to compare. The driver does an a warmth to the signal but compared to my all tube head it sounds slightly artificial. Also it supposed to emulate the tube compression, I witnessed no such thing. However the signal when it's engaged does sound nice, there's no harsh peaks and it's warm enough to notice and in a real situation you wouldn't notice the difference. Ok good test? The thing is sometimes I do feel that it's more a warm DI with some amp simulation, rather than tube amp emulation.
5. I think you should take a look at the for sale section, there is a very nice epiphone EB-1 there for £180 posted. Sorry for the shameless plug.
6. My Fender jag, came straight from the shop in it's box, not even checked or looked at since it left the factory way back in japan. Surprisingly it was set up perfect, intonation, action were spot on, just had to raise the bridge pup and lower the neck pup. It even came with a card with the persons name who checked the electronics and set it up, wrote in pen. To me anyway that's a great personal touch to the intrument. 2.5k a lot of that would be man hours, another chunk would be parts/exotic wood. I'd still expect it to be the knees of the bee.
7.
MMM like the fender jag if you were interested in a trade...
Grr now you are tempting me, but I love it too much. I do get paid this Friday so I could buy it then, I just would get killed my girlfriend so I want to try and get the epi moved first. If I still have the Epi by Friday I'll definatly buy it still.
8. Thanks for the offer but I'd only take a TB if it was in the non standard sunburst. Also trying to hold out for a sale to raise funds and make space for a EBMM SUB bass.

10. Some hit me up prefer cash, trades are there as I can use them.
11. OMG, just trying to sell my epiphone EB-1 so I'll have the funds, and the space, for this.
12. Epiphone EB-1 in great condition. Finish is superb, except the missing scratch plate. Sound wise it's thumpy, and a bit muddy but eq in less bass and it sounds abit clearer. Its not great top end and it's not "amazing" but it's cheap and cheerful and is a great for dum dum dum parts, would make an interesting mod build aswell. I originally wanted to add a bridge PU and use dual dark stars, upgrade the bridge and tuners, then upgrade electronics. However gas has struck me and I'm circuming. I part exchanged this with Munkofthehill, and since it's been setup by me, although those epiphone 3 point bridges arnt great, the intonation is sound just the string hieghts may want a fiddle. Munk will give testament to my setups. Price wise, a firm £160 collected, from my lair in Nottingham, or £170 posted. Tradesies, sansamp PARa driver. Thanks for looking and please someone hook me up. 13. Deal completed with out any issues, top bloke to trade with. Great guy, not so great gift wrapping
14.
Its quite possible the Tone Pot is a TBX pot which adds bass and treble simoultaneously. Should be able to work this out by it having a centre detent point where it clicks as you turn. Good luck with the sale, these are amazing basses. I would of had it if it had frets!
If it's of the same "special" gene as mine it would have that TBX, put just to correct you so others arnt mid lead, as it's passive it only cuts treble and bass frequencies. As in Treble Bass X(cut) although the annoyance in my opinion is that it only cuts one or the other. And as it's usually a 500k it has a lot of treble anyway.
15.
Erm it says Stockport which is near Manchester.
My bad. Alright well I'm just seeing about another deal first, if that goes south I'll hit you up.
16.
Will ask my wife to do some photo's tomorrow!
I like a good woman as much as the next man, but I like a good bass better.
17. Overall, I think it's pretty hard to get a transparent signal through anything 'solid state'. With some settings, both my custom jazz, fender jag and Epi EB-1 all sound roughly similar with very little to distinguish between them.
18.
I picked up a Para Driver after fighting with the SansAmp's mid suck for a year or so. Even with the mid control on the Para Driver I still couldn't get any decent mids out of it. There's still an inherent scoop that you have to put back in - and it didn't do it very naturally, IMO. I ended up with an EBS MBII which sounded much more natural. I can see why the Para Driver will appeal to some, though.
Haha, I just searched the EBS and the first result was your review. The more I use it the more I notice that mid scoop, but I'm quite generous with the mid, to add some back and bring back the warmth. I suppose the mid scoop is good for those who are using the drive a lot.
19. Even more tinkering was had I can now achieve a cleaner sound through the OTB. I set the gain on the the amp enough to buzz slighty and punch, then used the box's output pad. Got miles more clean head room now
