1. Thats some chunk out the body, how did that happen?
2.
What about Gretsch? I played few from that range and they are outstanding quality and sound fantastic. https://www.thomann....CFUW3Gwod9rYMcQ
Interesting suggestion, not sure if I'm a fan of the painted body though.
3.
If that is local to you, and you like mellow warmth then snap it up straight away!
Not local unfortunately. Gave this one a miss. I don't think it even got a bid
4. Worth a punt? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/122532184076?_trksid=p2045573.m570.l5999&_trkparms=gh1g%3DI122532184076.N36.S1.R1.TR2
5. Looks good man! Sounds like you've got a nice bargain, fingers crossed!
6. I then wished him good luck followed by the response: "I don't need luck snowflake " Not sure if he's flirting with me or trying to offend me...
7. Latest response: Value is what you believe something is worth, now I'm willing to take acceptable offers but those appear to be to high for most which you would expect as it is a luxury instrument. Now if someone sells there's for less than it's true value that's up to them, but if you take a look at music stores right now thumbs sell new for £4000+, so even if you halved the true value of the bass it would be 2000, and I think you'll find most the thumbs on eBay are listed at around 2000. They don't sell often because most people can't justify going from there squier to a Warwick financially. They don't see the value in luxury and its the same reason they wear clothes from tk maxx and not from Gucci. I had the bass listed at £2000 for a while and it generated no interest, but at this inflated price much more interest has come from it. So don't be to hurt by the high price, it's not killing anyone.
8. Met McNach for a trade a few years back. Great guy shame about the lack of good coffee shops in the area
9. Dear johnmhbear, £9999 is about £9000 too expensive for a second hand Thumb mate. Not sure where you got your pricing from. I'm interested to find out if you're willing to tell me. Regards, Alex Dear aleshiel, I'm interested to know where you learnt your manners haha, and if you think a thumb only cost £999 youre value for true German craftsmanship and the love of the bass is pathetic. It's like Paul Reed Smith says, luxury ain't cheap. You wouldn't expect to get a Lamborghini for cheap so why expect to get a really nice, beautiful and epic sounding instrument for cheap. - johnmhbear
10. Message sent. Wait and see what he comes back with to justify the pricing.
