  1. They have it on the v10 deluxe instead https://sire-usa.com/products/sire-marcus-miller-v10-dx?variant=42380553486474
  2. Unlike Mr Presley I recommend plugging it into an amp before strolling through a busy bar/ club
  3. Yep, definitely not a revolution but minor upgrades
  4. Bass bros has a looker of a late 70s jazz. https://bassbros.co.uk/product/1976-fender-jazz-bass-2/
  5. Rather than two imitations, if I had that sort of money I’d be on the phone to Mr Baxter for the real deal.
  6. Not sure this makes any sense, but with pickguard looks like a bass guitar and without a pickguard looks like an electric bass.
  7. Wasn’t bad at all. Not many bids were placed so don’t think there were too many aware of it or it was a case of bad timing.
  8. Just missed out on a 93 Bt5 on eBay. Hopefully it went to a basschatter
  9. Same one is slightly cheaper on reverb but the guy thinks it’s made in US. Might be able to use old classifieds on here to convince them the price is wrong.
  10. It’ll do for the dog and trumpet
  11. If the PJB Big head is the same Sort of thing then it is fantastic.
  12. I think it’s gone up in line with the recent increase of Warwick’s Team built MIG series. I sold my Warwick Thumb NT 5 fretless for just £1k 10 years ago. Would love another one but couldn’t justify the prices now. There are sometimes decent ones just above £2k at the usual shops.
  13. How weird that the finish has come off so easily. I’m guessing it wasn’t green from factory? I’d be tempted to take it all off and you’d have a lovely natural F bass.
  14. I love that attention to detail. You see too many high end custom builds with very fancy tops and then just large lumps of plastic.
  15. My second bass was a P bass but when at uni I decided to experiment with different J basses and the and the P bass was left in the case. Luckily I never sold it because after owning lots of J basses of different types and eras, the P bass had the sound I had been trying to get.
  16. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news….
  17. Totally agree with P basses. A 1967 was my favourite. Although very different, the best J basses I’ve played were a 62 and a 78 for both sound and feel.
  18. Is that of competition of music or fame? I’d argue the latter. Very little of the input to reach such heights is musical.
  19. He is also quite tall
  20. Yep massive. But the criteria was “Our go-to gurus, those unsung heroes of the bass world that lurk in the background either on rekkid or on stage?” He isn’t exactly lurking in the background like Pino does.
  21. I wasn’t sure about MM. Is he better known for his own stuff or as a sideman?
  22. For sure. Especially in Gouche’s case he is on a very long term gig
  23. Adam Blackstone is in the mix for me. But….. I’m told 90% of being a session player is how you are on the hang, how easy you are to get along with and punctuality. There are other added bits such as programming for the production or arranging too, stuff we never get to see from the stage. Unless you’ve hired them, it’s hard to know how valuable they are outside of the hour or so on stage/ on the records.
  24. Small world. I used to play bass for Katie around 3/4 years ago, but moved out of the city. Saw her at Alsager music festival recently and her band sounded great.
  25. I think 4 strings tend to sell better. There’s far more on the s/h market and a 5 string version of a bass always seems harder to get your hands on. I’d expect you’d have sufficient choice at the bass gallery or bass direct. Bass bros have a few now too I think.
