2.
Especially when you stamp all over the bastid because it's wrecked your jack socket!
Exactly. I never let those things anywhere near my basses/amps.
 3.
Russ prefered the Lakland in the second shop but he could see I had left the one I loved in the first shop so we just went back and got it! The cheapest Lakland with the soap bars actually sounded real nice and we were both taken with it but it wasnt a tone I would want all the time instead of my Rays. The 55-02's were defo the next best thing for me and I actually preferred the cheaper one without the maple cap but for a few hundred less than the Ray5 we agreed I would only end up moving it on for a Ray! Fender USA Jazz 5 wasnt great IMO (sorry if you like them but just not my bag). We never got to bassdirect because of the snow but I had decided it would be the Ray by then anyway so it was just a matter of getting the right deal. I just need your 30th and fretless and I have a full house!
This man has a serious Ray addiction.
 4. Give it a whirl. You'll only think *what if* if you don't.
 5. 100% Fender TB1200 Matt Grundy, thoroughly nice bass player and good guy.
 6.
depends what its made of surely..
lead?
 7. Am I the only person who thinks that bass is going to be seriously neck heavy?
 8.
SR 5
You've just won Bully's special prize.
 9.
I hate to see this thread turning into a Dingwall bashing. There is really no need for it, and you certainly don't gain anything by dissing them. As for that car, yes its ugly as sin, but if it had a 12V pots Supercharged 3 litre engine in it, and did 0 to 60 in under 6 seconds then of course I would give it a go! If at all possible, some of you should at least show some respect towards the luthier who actually makes this basses and takes his time to answer all kind of criticism while all the time maintaining a very polite and humble approach. Can you imagine Sterling Ball and his "Sig Heil!" Kingdom along with his contract killer moderators handling someone who says the Bongo is ugly and looks like a toilet seat? It doesn't bare thinking, I tell ya! Electric pliers and medieval torture awaits you, and when he's done with you, his fanbois vultures are called in to feast on your carcass!
Chill - I don't think there is any Dingwall bashing going on. In fact, as far as I am concerned, I fully appreciate the Dingwall thing, even though it's not for me. I just merely pointed out that the comments based on looks wasn't exactly the most appropriate one. You wouldn't drop the cash on something if it wasn't visually pleasing or comfortable. If the Dingwall floats your boat and does everything you want, then all power to all the Dingwall owners! As for the car comments, yes, we'd all give it a go... wouldn't mean we would buy one... if you get what I mean.
 10. Nobody mentioned this? Love the video too... although I'm not usually a Coldplay fan.
 11.
Some interesting uneducated reply's on the looks of the bass. I would say you need to play one before you judge it.
What an odd comment indeed... would you drive this before you judged it? The looks of something has to be at least a little appealing...
 12.
Whatever it is its coming straight out the box and into a 2 hour set for my first time on a fiver, wish me luck...
'tis the only way!
 13.
The thread wasn't about the song!
I'm glad that somebody else is on the same wavelength. Quite literally slapping (pun intended) the guy in the OP down is not appropriate.
 14.
Oh no! Why did this have to turn into yet another I love/I hate Mark King thread. Can't we all just accept that there are two camps and be done with it. How about a fanboy starting a 'I LOVE MARK KING' thread and then those that do can indulge themselves and those that don't can, with a huge amount of self-discipline, ignore it.
I know. You can't knock Mark King as he is an exceptionally talented bloke... but as with most things, there is a time and a place. This wasn't it.
 15. No love for MK in this thread...? And quite rightly too. It was all about the video in the OP. Tsk. Some people should be ashamed of themselves.
 16.
Pete Roscoe will be too much money but I do like them so one day you never know but right now it might just be a big 34" thumb rest!
35" !
 17.
Pete-I'm doing the panto in Lichfield until January 9th,so if you ever want to pop over and ask questions, give me a shout.
Garrick action. Afterall this time in Lichfiled, you know, I've never been to a panto at the Garrick...!
