1. Steve just had a wizard pickup off me,smooth transaction, great comms, and all round good egg......to summarise he gets my vote and comes with a high recommendation
  2. Well my case arrived yesterday and i have to say it is appalling! I think I must have received a second because a jazz bass wont even fit,and when i kind of "make" it fit the whole case gets out of shape, i have emailed the flightcase warehouse to let them know so lets wait and see what they have to say!
  3. Far out teles rick! Seriously though proper cool pair there…think I need to start checking under people's beds!
  4.
How come it's a Jazz case, but has pics of a P?
Just a generic pic I think, there's a separate link on the site for a p case that looks the same.
  5.
Hey people, just noticed this on ebay. Texas Customs Gold Anyone seen or used one of these before? Seems a lot of dosh for a passive control system, I can't believe they really sound THAT much better than a standard CTS wiring kit.
Was looking at this earlier actually....certainly looks pretty....although you never see the underside do you...maybe time for a perspex control plate!

    Hey DOOD!
You mean he didn't think you'd just brought a large guitar along But it does pose a question, When does an ERB cease to be a Bass.
think its about here........ .........
  7.
I had one by these guys for my thunderbird, dear god it weighed a ton. And it didn't fit the bass very well (it rattled round inside if you weren't careful). But it was a one off and the guy I bought it off gave the dimensions so that was part of the problem.
Was that one of there actual flightcases or a case like the one in my link?
  8.
I would strongly recommend that you at least try calling the Hiscox factory. They do have an incredibly tight QC system and their runs often produce a couple of "seconds" which they sell on at VERY attractive prices Definitely worth a punt IMHO. I've bought two LiteFlite cases in the past and I honestly can't see what is wrong with either of them!!
I ordered one from the flightcase warehouse about half an hour ago! Good to know for future reference though, had a hiscox a while ago and their great cases.
  9. For sale wizard 84 neck pickup....just the one im afraid! £20 delivered
  10.
I have one of those, it is extremely well padded, the tolex type pvc is coming away a bit and the glue they use is very pungent, good construction and well worth the price, good VFM IMHO
Think i may have to pull the trigger on one, it looks a bit like a g and g case to me, whats it like for weight? they dont seem to give specs for weight.
  11. was just looking at this and thought it looked pretty good value, anyone own one?
  12. At 3:07 im sure he turns to her and says "that sh*t sounds terrible"!

  15. I used interparcel a little while ago as had the same issue sending an accordion to ireland and was getting ridiculous quotes elsewhere. there site is here You can get an easy quote while choosing what service you use,and insurance on your item is vastly cheaper than what royal mail will charge, and they will pick the item up from you saving the hassle of even leaving the house!
  16. Great cabs these, and a top bloke to deal with.
  17. Hi there, Does anyone know if its possible to remove a normal fender truss nut and replace it with a bullet truss rod nut? it looks like the plastic bit inside would have to come out, which I'm not sure serves any real purpose but i may (and have before) be wrong
  18. with his "1" feedback what could possibly go wrong?
  19.
Some 12 volt power supplies have 'floating' outputs. Thus, regardless of the polarity of the plug, neither output is connected to ground. As the amp will also run on batteries I guess it's designed not to actually require a ground connection. But, on the assumption that it could be run from a grounded PSU then they've specified that the ground should be connected to the negative side of the 12v supply - which is quite standard. If you have a multimeter, it would be easy to check if the PSU earth pin is connected to the positive or negative output, or neither (floating output). Also, some PSUs are 'smoother' than others and this can lead to hum issues - particularly with a floating PSU. In general, the cheaper the PSU the 'rougher' the output, but it requires some half-decent test equipment to really see what's going on with the DC output. If possible, it's probably worth trying a few different PSUs, though I realise not everyone has a box of them for such occasions.
Hi flyfisher, That all makes sense now, although this is a regulated supply so should be pretty smooth, also this has a metal earth pin on the plug so I'm guessing it would be plastic with no earth at all? Gonna borrow a multimeter tomorrow, think that is the only way to get to the bottom of this!
  20. shameless bump
  21.
Sure sounds like it. What does your adaptor say it is? It should have a symbol like this: (in which case it's a negative-tip, which is the sort you don't want), or the same but with the + and - reversed (in which case it's the sort you want).
Pos is going to the tip so the polarity's right, bit confused regarding an earth as this amp runs on battery's or 12v dc supply.
