Trace series 6 AH300 in the military style rubber housing teeth crackingly loud with working uv! All in great working order, the odd little scuff and mark but nothing to serious for kit of this age. And a trace 1 x 15 vinyl covered 1153t (8ohm 200 watts) The cab has a few light marks and the corners are a little tarnished (as shown in the pics) but again nothing to write home about. After £200 for the amp and £100 for the cab (or £275 if you have them both) collected from Kettering in Northants, although if your not ridiculously far away i could potentially deliver for fuel. Any questions drop me a pm.

Identification and some idea of repair costs?
chrisd24 replied to simwells's topic in EUB and Double Bass
I was bidding on this myself, assuming its the same bass? (it came from Market Harborough?) I did some research and it looked to be a juzek Chzech built laminate bass, not sure if that info is of any use i just thought i would pass it on....no hard feelings for beating me in the auction -
This is a weird one (bless him)

truly one of the greatest things I have ever seen..... I'm so tempted to hit the buy now button then email a picture of me holding an epiphone to him. -
I have been watching this on ebay and its local which is making me want to have a punt,i am clueless with double basses though and dont really want to go grab a lemon just because its just down the road! We use one of these on our cajon http://www.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?moduleno=228613 it's ridiculously cheap I know but it actually sounds pretty damn good! And clips on to the soundhole so you can just leave it there when you unplug after a gig.

Still looking end of 2011 type bump!

I messaged the guy and the measurements correlate with a half scale. As for reattaching the neck fortunately my mate owes me a favour…which makes me think I should try and get an older solid wood bass in a complete state and let him deal with it!

Hi Sarah thanks for your reply. I was already watching that one on eBay to make a swift last minute bid but have messages him now. The only concern I have is that inside the body in pencil it says 1/2 which makes me thunk it's quarter scale rather than 4/4.
There's this one on eBay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Double-Bass-4-4-full-size-no-strings-/290649349615?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Sting_Instruments&hash=item43ac0d1def He says 4/4 but then isn't sure, and it's not too far from you. I'm currently after a double bass but can't really afford a half decent one on my budget, but a luthier friend of mine has said that if I can get hold of an old b&h laminate or something of that ilk that's been terrorised and maybe even has the neck off he will sort out for me free of charge! Which is great news but I still need the bass so if you have anything that fits the description then please let me know.

For sale my trace 2x10,this is the carpet covered one with the adjustable horn.it's 200 watts at 8ohms. The carpet on this is practically like new,the grill on the other hand is a little scratched, but nothing more than you would expect for a 15 year old cab. I'm after a very reasonable £100 for this ideally collected from Kettering in northants,I can courier but I'm guessing it would add about another £20. I will get pics up when I get a chance.

How good are your luthier skills?
I read on internet in some post: Red silks on top with no silk at the bottom = GHS Boomers What so you think? Yes the are sort of "scratchy" ...
they certainly are scratchy but my boomers have red silks at the tip and ball end of the string. edit: i have an old set of boomers if you want them to test out before you pull the trigger on a new set of strings you may not want!

I'm of the same thinking but we also have another small pa comprising of 2 powered tops so it needs to compliment that as well.
