Not in same league as a Fodera value-wise, but I made the decision a while back that basses are meant to be played. James Jamerson. But given the two options you mention, Jack Bruce every day of the week. Much more of an interesting character, had much more of an impact on the music scene of his time and produced far more listenable music. In my humble opinion.
