With two mini48 cabs and two mini 15's my suggestion would be two simple heads. I use a Markbass F500 with my Ashdown mini48 & a vintage and ultra rare GK115LB cab. However, as correctly explained earlier you'd be down to 2 ohms, so, send a more 'trebly' sound thru one head (amp) to the pair of mini48's, then line out to another head - eg F500 and feed that output to the mini15's (best sited on bottom). Thereby you can tweak tone for 15's making them bass heavier. It is almost a biamp set-up of sorts! And akin, to Alembic F-1X or Alembic Series Bass stereo output... Perhaps it should be asked: do you need 4 cabs?, albeit ultra compact! Alternative definitely worth very serious consideration: MarkBass NY604 - astonishing capability way beyond the laws of physicals and expectations esp evident with a throbbing, fat jazz bass sound!!

PS yeah the f-1x is only a preamp

I have several amps. Most are solid state. One is the Alembic F-1X. They are relatively cheap. Industrial spec. Very shallow depth. IU. Incredible sound. Just 1 tube. Strongly recommend! I like boogie but was v disappointed by a 400+ though I'm sure some love! We all have different tastes! That's a good thing

Kay NEW £50 P-shape junior scale 1983 Same Same again (they kept having electronic faults so the shop kept giving me replacements!) Westone Thunder 1A - S/H - wow what a leap! (moderately awful to play looking back though) Hohner Jack - steinberger headless system £300 new - later sold for £120! Jaydee MK - classic £300 s/h in 1993. Astounding price. Cost the guy who bought it new £800 in '87. I only sold the MK (to my brother-in-law) as I found the string spacing too big... Compared to the next bass below... Alembic Stanley Clarke standard - quilted maple made '97 - bought s/h in 1999 Fender Jazz deluxe MK model Zon Sonus custom 4 - slanted maple S/h Alembic series 1 small body Bubinga 1981.

For sale: Gallien Krueger supplied:- Tripod, mounting bracket, with mounting 'ear' knurls... for the GK MB combo (12 inch speaker). I no longer have my GK MB150E combo and so the tripod and GK mounting kit is up for grabs. I loved it as it means you can place your combo in the corner of the room out of the way and as well as looking uber cool, allows you to project the sound at a higher level than off the floor... The tripod GK provided is a manfrotto stand - so excellent quality. Good used condition. £50 + shipping.

Hi guys, I no longer have my delicious GKMB150E combo and have a genuine GK supplied (via the then current UK 'disty' Beyerdynamic) Manfrotto tripod with amp mounting bracket and two amp mounting 'nuts'. Looking for £50 + shipping. The stand is great as it puts the combo at whatever height you want the sound to emit (within the limits of the height-range of the stand obviously!). Good used condition.

It's essential to try kit out and judge by your ears. Untried the tc rh450 and felt it was real nothing special. I use the MK500 and felt the tc does not have the magic aura sound wise that the mk500 delivers. To mis/'re-quote' mark: my ears did not find hectic sound 'so alive/dynamic'. Btw I love tc effects kit - I've used a g system with bass for around 3 years! It is phenomenal. It's worth noting that markbass do a very wide selection of amps and cabs. I was blown away by the combination of a mb tube 800 with two NY604 cabs - incredible! Better than average sounding mb 410 / 210 cabs etc...

MK500 surely?
I'm putting up for sale my basis m-2000 amp. I bought it some six months ago but it doesn't get along with my cab. This amp has 2 different preamps that can be used both at once or separately so EQ options are infinite. I had it serviced because graphic EQ on tube side didn't work well. I took it to authorized mesa tech and he found a bad chip inside so this was replaced. He also put a new preamp tube in. 600W @ 4 ohms, it's really loud. I used it with 8 ohm cabs on couple of gigs and it was more than enough so this really pumps out at 4 ohms. Footswitch is not shown in pictures but is included. Amp and footswitch are both in excellent condition and not even scratched. Rack case is also included. Whole package weighs around 18 kg. I'd like to get 780 + shipping. I would also be interested in trade for walkabout/carbine m6/m9 (possible cash your way). Hi, is this still for sale? What are you hoping for £ thanks, Mark
Ashdown ABM Bass Rig (Photos added + lower price)
bump
Hi, is the lower and smaller "mini 15 cab" (with white trim) still for sale? That's the only bit of kit I'm interested in. Is it non farty' (ie good clean sounding'). Big favour - could you measure the height of this cab for me? Thanks a million, Mark -
Is anyone interested in buying this? I simply have too many cabs so something needs to go. It reportedly cost two grand new, not sure if that is true. It was part of a monster rig Adam had. It is a serious and capable cab with an unusual speaker position configuration. I believe Ashdown will corroborate they only made this cab for U2 and no one else
I have to confess I've trimmed down from this... To this... and though I'm much happier I'm alternating between the Thunderfunk and the Tech Soundsystems Black Cat amps so often that I'm back to not caring which amp I am left with when one sells! If this is the worst dilemma I have in 2008 I'll be over the moon
hi dude - how do you rate the Zon sonus? I have one too - custome splat top - beaut!!
It has a 34" neck, just as I prefer. It was ordered by Edwin van Huik from Bass Connection in the Nederlands, and his initials are on the serial number: 98EVH11852USA. The bass has the regular SI electronics with an additional Master Volume. The bass is very beatiful and the workmanship is flawless. You can get the Stanley Clarke- like sound as well as Jazz Bass, Precision and "really muddy". The key to the sounds are the filters that cut frequencies. You get the full sound with open filters. That´s perfect for Slap, Fingerstyle Soloing and stuff like that. If you use the filter, the sound looses high frequencies. You can add a decent boost with the Q- Switches for the frequency the Filters are set to. So you can imagine that almost any sound is possible with these electronics, without any EQ, you can use the EQ from you amp. I really enjoy this bass. If you want to know anything, feel free to ask. You can check out some sounds of the Alembic on my profile Myspace
nice. prefer small body shape but this looks more versatile sound wise! i have an SC standard and small body S1.
