Well, maybe. I'm getting on a bit now and find it tiring in a morning after a gig - and that's with pints of orange squash.

Weight = 4kg....8.8lbs nice and light for a Stingray, you don't get the massive bottom and piercing top like the later stuff.

Original pre-Ernie Ball 77' Stingray in sunburst/maple neck. Pre Straight neck. Has been re-fretted sometime in the past 39 years and you can understand it because its a great feel and you want to play it. Quite warm sounding.105-45's fitted. Ive been asked a few times what model is ...so here we go I'm fairly certain the model is called 'Fender American Precision S1' The S1 switch was an innovation by Fender from about 2002 but was dropped back to a standard 250k pot in I think 2008. From that point on Fender called it the American Standard. So really it's an American Standard with the bonus of an S1 switch. The bass gives a typical P bass sound, but when the button of the S1 switch is pushed in, it gives a thinner sound, probably incorporated for jazzers or slappers.

Very good condition. Two minor paint chips, tiny dink in neck with no affect to player, very mild scuffs on rear of body obviously from natural rub not buckle. S1 switch. Truss rod fine etc. There are no holes in the scratch plate for the pickup ashtray, neither for the fingers rest. I suppose style of playing has moved on from the old thumb playing. (I still occasionally use my thumb for that fat sound, sometimes in a waltz - whats that nowadays?) Colour reminds me of a fairground toffee apple, looks brighter in spots. Covers included. Case included.

Bass was put 'on hold'. The potential buyer was let down with the sale of 'his' bass, so this bass is back on sale again.

I know Daz is more interested in a sale, but I fully agree on every point with The groovy-plucker. Interesting point to be aware of when shipping TC Electronic RS cabs. The tweeter is screwed to the back of one of the speakers. Once I had a cab sent back to me with the guy saying one of the speakers is distorting. Could not understand why for ages. What had happened was that the cab had been abused in transit. The weight of the 'piggy back tweeter had been jolted somehow and developed a hairline bend in the rim of the speaker frame. I always take pics of my packaging, stage by stage and it did help me get compensation from Interparcel.

Doesn't help with the sale but I've also got the shallower trace cabs. I found the Ashdown cabs seem constipated in comparison to the cels.

Very powerful. 250watts. Valve preamp. Made in UK. etc etc. Truly great classic bass amp made by purely a bass amp manufacturer at the time. The amp was part of a Trace combo but I struggled to carry the combo. So, I cut the woodwork and made a new bottom for the new head. The amp is all original with no issues whatsoever (the valve must be worth a few bob) The amp is easily manageable now and the sale is for the amp head as in the picture.
