Up for sale is a stunning early 80's JV (Japanese Vintage) Precision bass. These are the famous early generation Squiers that came out of Japan between 1982 and 1983. Their quality was superior to the US made versions, especially the Precisions, but at a lesser price. They essentially created serious competition for US Fenders. Now very sought after on the used market. Nut width 42mm. Theres a small chip out of the nut but has no affect on string slot/movement whatsoever. It was refinished some years ago by the original owner. The refinish was done by a luthier possibly Jaydee, using period correct du pont paint. Light playing wear. Frets are good, truss rod fine, nice action and no fret buzz. Neck is slim and fast with rosewood board. At some point a Jazz pickup has been installed - very professional routing. There is no further routing under the pickguard or in the control well. The original pickup was replaced with a Seymour Duncan SPB-1. The original P pickup works and will be included in the sale. The Jazz pickup is a Seymour Duncan SJB-1. The small toggle switch gives neck, neck/bridge, bridge options with the same volume and tone pots. Weight 4kg.

Classic Trace head, probably the best model in my opinion. 250watts of superb power and punch from the tone of the GP11pre amp that gets your cut/projection through the mix. The amp is built like a tank and quite heavy - with a real transformer! Very quiet and works perfect with the exception of the tiny eq and pre amp buttons -they don't push in/out. However the modes can be operated by a footswitch or even pushing in a jack plug in the F/switch jack socket. I've always left it in the graphic mode anyway, you don't really need anything else. If you've got a class D amp, you may bite your lip sometimes wishing you'd gone traditional again because somethings not quite right, however, as you may have paid a fortune for it.... (thats just my opinion)

Spaghetti logo. These early models caused a conflict with Fender, they didn't like it. Lawsuit if you like. Funny how the woods in the 82-83 USA Fenders, Fenders up to 73', 82-83 JV's and early Tokai basses give the basses a warm tone, punchy, and an even volume across the strings (including pre CBS of course) and are much sought after. I've replaced the original pickup - which is A1, with a Seymour SPB3. As the pole pieces in the SD are big, it does make it a very loud bass. Has some dings on the body as you would expect. Frets still good with no fret buzz. Truss rod works fine. Nut width 40mm Weight 3.9kg 8.6lbs. Original p/u included New set of 45-105 Rotosound round wound strings on. Tatty case included.
