  1. An absolutely stunning example with matching headstock Maruszczyk Jake 5+ P/MM that is around 7lbs / 3.2Kg in weight, Fitted with passive Delano MC5 HE/M2 and PC5 HE/M2 pickups and comes with a Hiscox hard case. New D'Addario nickel rounds fitted but I can include some used DR Sunbeams if you'd prefer. 18mm string spacing at the bridge If you've ever wanted a lightweight 5 stringer that weighs so little that a 2 or 3 hour set leaves little to no impression on your ageing shoulders, then this is the bass to have
  2. I'm in a 90's function band playing songs I would never normally listen to (or even want to listen to), so it's dumbed down as far as I'm concerned. We have keys as well as guitar and they do all the fancy stuff and as long as I keep a bass line going along with the drummer then no one seems to notice or care.
  3. I know, but it's the look. The new 5 stringers have lost something in their conversion to something playable
  4. I'm keeping my eye out for an old fashioned 5 stringer (not the new ones with triangular pickups) as I can't get that Ricky itch out of my system. The only problem is the price
  5. Gorgeous bass. Wish I could afford it
  6. This .... My 5 string is painted that overall cack brown but I don't have the nerve to do anything to it.
  7. I love it so much I bought the red one. The fact that they both weigh 7lbs is a massive plus point too
  8. Of course I will Joerg. Message me with your details and I'll find out the postage. John
  9. Here's my two Jakes. A P/J V and a P/MM V. Both chambered and weighing in at around 7lbs each. The only fault I can find is that I'm not a massive fan of the look of the Delano pickups big poles on the red P/MM, but otherwise they are probably amongst the best basses (especially the sunburst one. That one just edges in front of the red one) that I have ever played (the light weight does help a lot too).
  10. I like the look of the small pole showing through. Suppose I could just get small hole covers. Actually just looking at them it wouldn’t work as the covers are cut exactly around the poles.
  11. I've a couple of Maruszczyk Jake 5 stringers, one is a P/J (not sure of the pickups but they have small poles) and the other is P/MM with large pole Delano pickups. I love everything about this second bass (the red one) except for the large pole pieces. They look terrible (to me). Is there a set of modern sounding P/MM 5 string passive pickups that anyone can recommend as I can't find any online or in stores?
  12. As I go to Hastings every couple of weeks that might be easier. Many thanks
  13. Setup in Sussex - Does anyone know where I can get my double bass setup in the Sussex area (preferably, though I'll include south London or the south-east )? I've googled but can't find anyone who isn't the other end of the country.
  14. Setup in Sussex - Just found this post and as it's relevant to my question I thought I'd ask here (rather than start yet another post). Does anyone know where I can get my double bass setup in the Sussex area (preferably, though I'll include the south-east or south London)? I've googled but can't find anyone who isn't the other end of the country.
  15. I've a Suitcase and a C8 that I use exclusively nowadays. I'm in Buxted, about 40 minutes from Sevenoaks, and you're welcome to come and try it if you want.
  16. 5 patch leads (4 the same, 1 different - not Boss though) and a daisy chain electric connector.
  17. I've 2 Maruszczyk Jake 5's. Both chambered and both around 7lbs in weight. Both perfect.
  18. Includes postage
