Hi All, As my fund raiser continues - here's a selection of pedals that are currently surplus to requirements and therefore now up for sale. Not really looking for any trades as this is a strict fund raising exercise, however, if anyone has a Wren & Cuff TFR, Aguilar TLC or Subdecay Proteus, Prometheus or Quasar DLX they wanted to tempt me with I could well be up for it! Never say never and all that! I've successfully used a PJB Briefcase for semi-acoustic gigs and have also used the same for one small venue we play (all electric regular gig), but DI'd into the PA and fed back through monitors. I think there were a fair few people at last years South West Bass Bash that were suitably impressed by the sheer volume/quality of sound it can deliver. It also makes a perfect home practice amp.
Have used the Markbass traveler series cabs for years with the Markbass F500 amp (very Similar to the F1) and this is a killer combination with loads of juice on tap. Time for an update: Top of the list for this is alhbass - he pm'd me at 09.52 this morning, second on the list is matybigfro, I'll keep the thread updated as the situation progresses, currently I'm negotiating a trade of my MarkBass cabs in which case this will (most likely) be withdrawn. Thanks all for your patience and understanding.

Hi All, [s]Another feeler[/s], I've decided I'm definitely moving on my Barefaced Super 12T. The only reason being is that I've acquired (by trade) a pair of Aguilar DB112 cabs which match my Aguilar DB750 perfectly and am seriously pleased with them and I'm on a bit of a fund raising mission for another purchase. I purchased this from Shockwave in December, it's in great condition and I'm looking to get what I paid for it which was £625 firm, I also have purchased a Roqsolid cover for it - brand new £45. I'd prefer buyer collects, I'm located 8 miles south of Marlborough, Wiltshire, but would consider posting at the buyers risk/expense. Alternatively, I would be happy to meet up within a reasonable distance for the cost of fuel. At this moment in time alhbass has first refusal on this as he was the first to pm me when I posted as a feeler - I'm just waiting on a response and will update the thread accordingly. Here's a link to the original thread/pics, hopefully Rob doesn't mind : http://basschat.co.u..._1#entry2301701 Cheers, Pete

Natural aptitude for playing the bass......
Thor replied to Absolute Beginner's topic in General Discussion
It's an interesting point you raise, I'll sit on the fence and say (in my case) a bit of both! Clearly I can only speak from my experience, I think it useful to have some natural "timing" with regards to listening to the feel/rhythm of music but conversely, with time and effort spent practicing I believe you can definitely develop your skills as a musician. I was quite lucky that my right hand technique was very easy for me to develop/quite natural - the left hand was a tad trickier and indeed I'm still working on! Seriously, I've been playing in bands/gigging for around 24 years or so and still love learning new stuff and challenging myself to work hard at achieving the right result - the only regret I have is not learning how to read music - I play totally by ear and feel - learning to read is on my to do list for 2014, it's good to have objectives and goals. Edited for typo -
I'm kind of in both camps. ... you can spot a guitar player playing bass, we usually pick lines automatically without thinking. Try coming up with an original line that fits a song without using one of the above. It's hard. Well, it is for me
+1 I've been depping for a band over Christmas & New Year and both guitarists mentioned the very same about my playing - the previous three "bass players" they used all migrated from guitar and would kinda emulate what the guitarist was doing and that it all sounded a bit disjointed, rather than play what they considered to be a more natural bass line, locking in with the drums as Lozz said.

It really depends on what level of postage/shipping the seller has used, I've had pedals arrive in 4 days before now but conversely I've had some pedals take nigh on 4 full weeks to arrive. Generally speaking, unless the seller has specifically marked the goods as a gift, you will have to pay a proportion of duty/VAT on the goods. Hope this helps!

Ooh, that could work out quite nicely for both of us! I wouldn't be averse to adding some cash for the right trade, alternatively, it's been a while since I've had a weekend in Scotland, rather than entrust the cabs to couriers I could potentially collect/deliver while treating the other half to a weekend away -
Hi All, I'm selling my Mark Bass 151P Traveler Cab & 102P Traveler Cabs complete with Roqsolid Covers. The only reason for selling is I've just bought an Aguilar DB750 head and now am looking to move to Aguilar cabs, I'm looking to replace my current set up with 2 Aguilar DB112's or 1x DB112 & 1x DB112NT with covers. I also have a Barefaced Super 12T/Roqsolid cover which I may keep for smaller gigs. I guess I'd be looking for somewhere around £350 for each of the cabs/covers - but am willing to negotiate! All gear is in very good/minty fresh condition, I have carefully removed the Mark Bass badges from the cabs as I found them to be a tad garish for my taste, however, I still have them safe and should anyone like them/want them refitted, I can do so. Would ideally like to trade for Aguilar DB112/112NT Cabs/Covers (Classic Black/Silver preferably) - with a small cash adjustment your way (depending on situation). I'm located 8 miles south of Marlborough in Wiltshire, 20 miles south of J15 M4, approx 31 miles from J8 M3, I'm happy to travel for the right deal.
+1 If you can hump the DB750 about, carrying a DB112 is about the same. hence elected to buy a Berg AE212 which isn't much heavier than a single DB112 but narrower with a pair of handles... result.
I've heard a lot of good things about the Berg AE212 - I'm not sure whether I could handle the weight though - perhaps that's another avenue for research? Cheers, Pete
