1. ok i'm thinking of moving onto a smaller light weight combo as since i bought this rig it's hardly ever been used,3 lously gigs is all its done--pathetic or what ? it's not even used for practice as the rooms we use have amps supplied & if i use it in the house it'll probably demolish the bloody place. the head is fitted into a Gator 3U shallow flight case. the rig sounds awesome but hey it's just sitting there collecting dust so it may just as well go, not really shure how much to ask for it so make me a sensible offer. price is £6**.00 collected only. (i will confirm price later today as i have offered it to a fellow bc'er already & will give him first chance)
 2. just sold my 62 r'i' P bass to david, absolute top bloke to deal with, paid straight away & didn't try to beat me down on price (unlike some ) all round really nice guy, cheers David.

 15. i don't suppose you fancy a 2008 American deluxe Precision ? it's a 4 string though.
 16.
Thanks a lot for the kind comments fellas. Just ordered a brushed gold pickguard for that P from WD - website says it'll be 1-2 weeks and the email confirmation I got says it'll be four weeks but could be longer. I could swim to the US and pick one up quicker.
hi Alan,i almost went for gold instead of the white pearl,it'll look cool i think. it's a cracking P bass isn't it ? the best MIM std i ever played.
 17.
if it aint broke....
i'm begining to think the same way. btw thats got to be a warwick in you're avatar with a neck like that
 18.
Jon Shuker put a passive switch on my Stingray. He replaced the treble knob with a push/pull knob that when pulled out, the bass was passive and also worked as a tone for the passive mode too. It sounded lovely. Not sure how he did it as electrics are pretty-much witchcraft to me.
lol it should be called electrickery i reckon. that may be an option though-cheers.
 19.
Nice bass by the way & yes direct to out put jack for finding what your pups are likeby them self. To rewire its easy with 4 new pots & 2 caps some wire & solder . I recommend find a wiring dia off SD etc & have a go your self , its not that hard.
cheers i love this bass it's a real cracker. i don't think i'd dare do this myself i'll set my bass on fire
 20.
I've always meant to look into the possibility of installing a switching option to allow passive use on mine. What do you reckon, is it feasible?
i thought about that but without the preamp on i don't think you'd be able to adjust any tone settings or even the pickup pan control.
 21.
I know this model fairly well and confirm the pickups will have a reasonably healthy output for passive performance. If you can carry out the work yourself - fine, but if you need any help and can make it to Newcastle I could do the necessary for a small fee
thanks Doc' much appreciated. there is a tech in Harrogate called Andy Eagle is he can't do it or doesn't want to do it i'll fire up the sat nav & give you a call. you're a gent.
 22. thanks guys,i'll give it a go mrcrow--thanks for mentioning the jack i never thought of that. cheers
 23. hi,i really like my American Deluxe P bass but i'm more of a passive kind of bloke so i wondered how difficult it would be to convert it into a fully passive bass. what i had in mind is to bin the preamp & wire the bass up with 1 x volume & 1 x tone for each pickup as there are already 4 pots on the bass. ala- would the stock pickups be ok (they are passive i believe) & would this be a fairly simple job to have done ? cheers guys.
 24. i love my SVT3-PRO,it certainly doesn't lack for punch in fact it's the punchiest amp i've ever owned. i previously had a GK1001RB-11 & the SVT just blows it out of the water & gives me the best "old school" bass sound i've ever heard. the GK was plenty loud enough but just lacked the depth of sound that i like.
 25.
Great taste Neil but I'm taking it a stage further...I'm after an anodised gold scratchplate for it and then I'm going to paint my yoohoo gold.
