you are a bass trading slag! sadly for you i dont pay more than 200 clams for a bass nowadays, credit crunch and all that. i need a piss up, when are the growlers entertaining a harrogate bar? but not the blues
lol nice piss up-----good idea the growlers are a rite bunch of lazy b.....ds & don't have any gigs booked until december when we are supporting some blues player, i've not heard of before,at the west park hotel. but we are going to get our fingers out in september & try and get some gigs booked, worlds end maybee,so i'll give you a shout if ya like.
 3.
why? it's beautiful (is the one i played at bass bash?). if not im sure it's a beaut anyhoo. hows the p bass?
hi Wil,hope you are keeping well,i'm afraid all the basses i had at the bash have since being sold i just can't help myself, altough i do miss the P bass - it was a beauty wasn't it. this jazz is far nicer though & it sounds almost as punchy but is far nicer to play. infact it would just suit you so get your dosh out.
 4.
What model of Gibson are you after? I have a Gibson IV.
hi mate,i'm gasing badly for an SG bass i'm afraid but thanks for the offer.
 5.
Here was mine i bought from new, for a very good price (several hundred pounds cheaper than i've seen it nowadays). It was a very comfortable, light and solid bass. Definitely one of the good Gibsons. I eventually sold it as it didn't quite fit tonally with my next band. However, i'd love to still have it now. It looked super cool on stage in white.
very nice indeedy.
 6.
hey - congrats ! although you're doing nowt for my gas... i'm fancying a black eb3... how's the neck-dive ? better or worse than a t-bird ?
cheers, actually i've never player a T'bird so i can't compare but with a nice wide strap not to bad really & the bass plays so nice you just don't notice it,the best £199 i ever spent i reckon. if it fits in well with the band i may even sell my beloved Jazz & buy a Gibson i'm that impressed.
 7. ok i'm sorted (well for now),thanks for all the usefull input chaps. went into PMT Leeds today hoping they'd have an Epi' EB0 just so i could try the short scale for myself before ordering a Gibson. unfortunately they didn't have one in but they did have a Korean made Epi EB3 which i had a go on & "wow" it's a beaut',it looks nice, plays nice & sounds nice so i just had to buy it. it is by far the nicest £199 bass i've ever played & i can't believe how well put together it is when compared to the "cheaper" end basses i learned to play on 30 years ago,i'm so impressed that i may actually use it for my next upcoming gig. mind i may still buy a Gibson too, at a later date, but i'll try a short scale EBO first & see if i get on with it. so i'm a happy bunny (for now) thanks guys.
 8.
Thread has been editted due to a complaint - Please keep it about basses in here.... Off topics should stay there.
thank you.(it wasn't me that complained btw but it was starting to pi55 me off)
 9. thanks for the "useful" replies guys & a couple of nice basses shown too. i'll probably go for the faded one as i think the extra £400.00 is a tad rich just for a shiny finnish, especially with me being a Yorkshire man an all thanks for the link for Kenny's btw - i have found one considerably cheaper though, just have to convince the wife that we really need a new bass & not a new bathroom.
 10. i'm quite fancying buying an SG bass,do any of you guys have one & if so i would appreciate your opinions of them. i've nearly always had Fender basses & fancy something a bit different but still retro. i play blues & classic rock so i'm thinking one of these will be perfect for the job + i get a a bit of grief with my left shoulder so the short scale may be a bonus for that. always liked Jack Bruce's early tone so a set of flats will be a must & then i hope to be in retro city GAK list an SG reissue & an SG faded which looks to be an oil finish,is this the only difference between to two ? cheers guys.
 11. in mint condition,as new & half the price . it's been used in my house & occasionally for the odd "quite" (i.e. with no drums)band practice. specs- http://www.roland.co.uk/products/productde...p=553&c=425 sounds way bigger than it is with a tight well defined bottom end,it really does sound like a propper bass amp' + the built in effects are excellent too. £100 cash collected. cheers
 12.
pm'd
cheers replied
 13. i really really don't want to do this but - my beautiful Bacchus bass is up for sale due to the credit crunch (or could it be the Remus race exhaust system i just bought for my bike ) these are fantastic basses & are the best Jazz basses i have ever owned, superb quailty & awesome punchy sound. i've had to make a hard desicion whether to sell this or my Jap '75 reissue jazz, but the jap is too pretty to sell, although i have to say the Bacchus plays better. here is a site with more info on Bacchus. http://www.japanvintageguitars.com/Bacchus.html & here's a pic' the colour is a bit more turquoise than my flashgun makes it look. contition is very good with just a few minor dings but nothing major for a bass at least 10 years old (or so i'm told) strung with Ernie Ball group IV flats (which are ace btw) & comes with a warwick rockbag. as for the price i'll take £500.00 (cash only i'm afraid)for a quick sale & would prefer collection or maybee a meet somewhere pretty close to Harrogate. i'll post some more photo's if anyone wants me too, just let me know cheers.
 14.
+1 on Malcom at Guitar Emporium, top service. There's also a couple of second hand dealers to check out, http://www.fareastguitars.co.uk/ spring to mind as the main one, but you'll have to email him to see what's coming in on his next delivery and reserve it before it goes on the site otherwise it'll be gone sharpish
a big +1 for John at far east guitars,if you check his site their's a lovely 75 ri Jazz that he's just sold---now i wonder who bought that he's a top bloke to deal with, i ordered & paid wednesday lunch time & my bass arrived at 8:40 thursday,i kid you not. plus it's even nicer in the flesh than it is in the pic's,just as John said it was.
 15. personally i love Ernie Ball group iv flats in 40-95 gauge. both of my jazzes are strung with them & both sound great. tension wise the sort of half way between the floppy TI's & the high tension Labella's. i find them great for everything i play, they make for very good slap playing too (but unfortunaley i don't)
 16. first off my appologies for dropping out of buying this bass,it's a fantastic bass & a bloody good price too. so somebody get this bought-you won't regret it one bit.
 17.
Bumplini
PM'd
 18.
^^ love that V4 - in Dave's pics it looked more green. Awesome bass btw - I held back phoning him about it,my bank balance is better for it but I'm now a bit sore with snoozing and losing on this. anyway congrats on scoring a great bass!
cheers, it's a beaut' for shure. it is more green in real life, just the flash makes it look a lot bluer.
 19.
Thanks for all the info guys! yeah man i'd love to give it a try............or i could just buy it off you when you decide to sell it hahaha
cheeky no this one's definately a keeper (now where have i heard that before ?)
 20. very nice & i'm very jealous
