1. Some pictures would be nice!
 2.
Bought and sold and traded here on the forum. I much prefer Basschat than Ebay. No fees (other than a donation) for a start.
This!! Don't forget the donations chaps. There may be no fees as such, but if we want that to continue the odd donation every now and again is the least we can do!
 3. I bought this bass new from Thomann around two years ago. They list at around £500. I've really enjoyed playing it. It's never been gigged, but has been used only in the house and in rehearsal studios. It has a surprisingly wide range of tones for a single-pickup instrument and is very well made. Condition-wise? Well, there are no dings or scratches on the body, and only a tiny amount of buckle-rash which doesn't even show up on any pictures. However... there is some superficial damage to the pickup cover. This was stupidly caused by me. I'd lowered the pickup and for some reason I couldn't raise it again. So what did I do? I took a mole-wrench and tried unsuccessfully to lift the pickup. If only I could turn back time... The Bass Doc retrieved the situation and repaired most of the damage, but it is still visible if you look for it. I have tried to show this in the pictures, which make it look worse than it really appears! Anyway, best to be honest. There are lots of videos on youtube showing what these basses are capable of, and obviously anyone buying an unfamiliar instrument would do their research. It has been recently re-strung with DR Lo-Riders (40 - 125) and is sounding great. It is currently set up with a very low action and is stupendously easy to play. String spacing is very comfortable, even for my large mitts. I've tried unsuccessfully to find a fitted case for this unusual body shape, but the bass comes with a brand-new Fender standard gigbag worth about £20. Why am I moving it on? Well, I am trying to finance the purchase of a Geddy Lee Jazz bass, and also I just find that this bass responds best to a light and subtle touch rather than big fat Geordie fingers bashing away at it! I do not have a light touch... Any questions fire away! I have more pics if anyone wishes to see anything specific and can easily take more if requested. I am happy to package it up for shipping if the buyer wishes to arrange their own courier, otherwise I will ship from this end (at buyer's expense of course!). Shipping should be around a tenner within the UK.
 4. A no-name Chinese J copy fitted with Wizard Hammers, which I absolutely love! Squier Affinity P-bass with GFS pickups - still here as I type, but on it's way south on monday... A very nice bass but I find that the J can do pretty much what the P does (but not vice versa). To be fair, I'd be happy with the P if I didn't have the J - but of the two I prefer the J.
 5.
I've got a MIM Standard P, and I love it to be honest.
Yeah, it's a bugger when your bass tells lies...
 6.
I was advised to run screaming from anything in the ultra-cheap Affinity range.
Then you were badly advised! I've played a few and they have all been good - some excellent! You just can't go wrong for around £160!!
 7.
Is Geddy Lee dead? Tons of his basses on sale!
I know. But I only want one of them....

 9.
Wasn't the insanely clean 1962 just a tad more than £12K?
It was. Did it sell? BTW, what does that make yours worth Howard?
 10.
I think the new ones have a neck sanded by Geddy himself...
Cool!

 13. It's always a tough time. I am in the process of quitting a band. Completely different reasons, but it always leaves a bad taste in the mouth... Sounds like you need a bit of time out after this one.
 14.
Thanks for your reaction Conan! Total: €281,50 (which is 233 pounds.)
Oh right! That's not bad at all then. I had no idea you paid so little for the bass! Nice job
 15.
I wouldn't worry about tiny cosmetic quibbles such as that gap between the neck heel and the scratchplate. No-one will be able to tell!
Exactly. And some Fenders have a similar gap apparently!
 16. On hold pending all the usual gubbins...
 17. Did this sell?
 18.
The biggest surprise was the Affinity (black, rosewood). What a bass for £180! Light, nice neck, sounded, looked and played like a P. Looks a little cheap and wimpy pups but really impressive. But I don't want one. If that was the only thing on offer it'd be fine, but it's not! All I know so far is an Affinity is too cheap and cheerful
So if the Affinity cost £500 you'd buy one?! I know what you mean though. But for the price of a decent pickup upgrade (which could be as little as £20!) you could a have a bass that plays well, sounds good and looks fine!! Oh, and about £600 to spend on other stuff...
 19.
collection from basingstoke
Is posting an option?
 20.
I recently got my hands on one of these, with a view to maybe stripping the body for a bitsa project. However, having played it, it feels like a good one, so I've decided to leave it alone as it's really rather good and it seems a bit cruel to part it out. Also with an upcoming house project I haven't got the time. Anyway good luck with the sale
Thanks! They really do punch above their weight. I've played MIM Precisions that I didn't like as much as this bass!
 21. How would you describe the sound of this bass? What's the B string like?
 22. Bump for the addition of pictures. Plenty more available if anyone wants them.
 23. What do you mean when you say it is an "early" model? These were first made in the mid 1990s weren't they? What year is this one?
