1. OK feeling abit happier after the last posts, almost finished my ECDL course (WOOT!), got a good weekend ahead and christmas is almost a week away £850 if collected! no less and thats going against my stubborn self. anyone complains then you deserve to be shot £125 less than i first put and im based in wirral/liverpool, north west or at wellington, telford west midlands so im not far away from most of you! Merry Christmas y'all miserable buggers
2. To be fair, i have had a few fenders, squiers, ibanez's and others in the past and had sold them for buttons, pretty much leaving me with not alot to do with*... so im just trying to play it fair with this bass that someone gets a good deal (or atleast IMO) and that i can get another bass after its sold. Like, do you know any NEW & GOOD 5 string basses, better than the MM S5 for £600? seriously now? *With no offence but if you haven't experienced it, DO NOT COMMENT!!! You won't understand what it's like losing alot of money Thanks to Rayman and OutToPlayJazz for putting some light on this thread, not that i dont like opinions, nice to see what you think but atleast someone see's sence in what i'm doing. Thanks to Budget Bassist for welcoming me here, i wouldnt want to be anywhere else
3. Twickerman to get 1st dibs but otherwise unsold, £80 inc P&P? Pm me pls
4. I do have my eye on the Fender TV Ten Duo (350w) and the old Hartke VX series 410 combo but really unsure. Anyone had the new Fender?
5. Basically looking to get a new bass amp (inc cab) or a combo, my budget is about £700-800 and would prefer something big'ish (as im 6"6 and dont want to look a pratt with a really small amp) and like alot of control over tone... i.e graphic EQ. if anyone could help me find something preferably new, 2nd hand or advise me what amps are good to go for in the price range would be well appreciated.
6.
To be fair... you are quoting 'TOP END' retail and they NEVER go for that price new in this country. I don't want to derail your thread and whatever price you set, it's your perogative (Bobby Brown fans, sit the f##k down!!). Just having a look through the previous SR5's for sale on here may be good advice. Good luck anyway.
No, totally fine and i respect yours and everyone else's opinion. I know i quote new basses ("TOP END"?.... theyre still a standard S5 at the end of the day) but i just used the RRP to state that this bass is not one that sells for £900 new and £650 SH, if you get my jist? I just think people have grown so accustomed to the 'Ebay' way of selling that even on here things have to be cheap to sell... it is seriously sad and needs to be rejustified before any bass, not just mine, is selling for £300 or any stupid price. I.M.O you should see the bass for what it is and not the price tag, thinking only of what it cost would only take the pleasure of playing it away. Wheres the fun in that guys and gals? I honestly think £900 is a bargain for this bass and everything included and i'm not trying to hide anything by selling it for less. Merry Christmas people!
7. Update: To qualify for the Christmas goody bag, I need the payment sent & cleared before the 20th December in order to send the bass by 21st in time for Christmas Eve (not gaurenteed). All for now and i wish you all a merry Christmas. ^_^
8. nice find, do you know if they do the Hofner Club bass in that series?
9. i love the look and sound of the precisions, not so much bothered on the Jazz's :snob: if i were to go for a vintage jazz, i'd go for the classic series, custom shop or buy second hand.
10.
What part of Cheshire you in?
I live on the Wirral but at the moment its currently being sold to Tayste_2000
11. haha i'm just another compliment but what a beautiful bass.... shame it wasn't 5 string though
12. Yes but im not looking for a "quick sale" as such. The 'Sterling' Ray35 by Musicman (£749) is same price or more as most same basses selling on here and of which, alot better than that pile of indonesian crap. I know times are changing, guitars age and people are looking for a good deal too but this is a bass that retails for about £1.5k new and i don't think selling it for £600-£700 does this bass any justice, especially for a 5 string. Im sure you and many others who have read this thread will understand what my point is. Cheers for the comment anyway
13. Mine actually came tuned to C-C... they can possibly be tuned to E-E but the intonation may go out and alot of tension made on strings and neck, possibly.
14. can't say ive tried it, is it worth it? i know of the american, Genz Benz, make good but fairly expensive portable amps, cabs and combo's. should check 'em out.
15. totally the same as yourself though i dont clean it that often and like to keep it in the hardcase at all times Fender 'Roadworn': i don't see the point in paying a few hundred more for a battered guitar. especially when your paying ATLEAST!! £400 more on the Pbass. Give me £300 and i'll do the job for you
16. nice guitars and basses but the priuce tag would be the only 'con' for me. are they much different from the anniversary editions?
17. ive never played one supposed to be a recommended bass as far as i've been told, i know chris wolstenholme used/s many. theyre still made from what i know but only by a short team of people unlike machine built fenders, gibsons.... so you might have to buy 2nd hand to get one sooner and cheaper. wish you all the best on your quest and let us know what you think if you get around to get/ play one.
18. get a bright sound from maple unlike the warm from rosewood, personally i'd use rose' for fretless and maple for the fretted. keep us updated with pictures, would be great to see how you get along and comment
19.
Ah ok, made me smile, some people slate ashdown a bit, yet if its good enough for Macca, its could enough for me!
yeah but wasnt using the lower priced models by Ashdown, the uber cheap ones are crap but aint nothing wrong with ashdown. i prefer the likes of trace elliot, hartke, fender bassman ect ect but ashdown would be in my top 20 lol
20. about postage? as long as you pay the price i';m asking i will guarentee free P&P uploading pictures in a minutes time Thank you all for messaging me and being patient. 21. Headstock Body Rear - pretty much showing the "almost new" conditionn all over Gretsch Strap lock- no mods needed
22. nice basses, should try overtime to upgrade your squiers to fenders =]
23. really nice bass but happier your all well
24.
I've got a a smidgeon of GAS for this SRX355, especially since it's £249, anyone got one ? But THIS I would hit, alas it's double the price.. probably got same pickups/EQ anyway.
yeah, srx355 is crap lol.
