1.
Hard to put a price on that. Yes, it is 'old Gibson', but it is also a budgety and unloved model with no famous users.
They're classic basses but as much as I love Gibsons, they're a little over priced from my POV. The thunderbird I paid little over £900 in '09 and does feel like a decent £700-£800 tops, the new 2014 for £1400!? No way :-/ The SG basses are good value for American made instruments and if they come with the hard cases, £900 for the standard, depends how much money you have to throw at a finished £500/600 bass The old basses still in cycle are good money when priced right, a little TLC and away you go I'm currently soothing my SG itch tomorrow night, going to feel goooood
2.
I've still got mine and I know Andy Travis has his. I don't know which shifty shops you go into!! Great bass though and yours is in much better condition than mine. I've played it so much that it's wearing already... Also, a really great price!
I believe there are topics on this bass and included on it are stories of lost neck plates and the stores of which they were purchased from. Feel free to search but it is out there I don't blame them if I was "shifty" as them and Foo's fan too, it's just unfair for those spending £700 on an instrument when a collectible part is not included. Ideally these plates should be numbered and come with a certificate to confirm it. I'm just glad to see one for sale, good price (£500?!?!), neck plate & gig bag included and a great seller to deal with BSB out
3. Looks a good amp and who wouldn't say no to a 4x12? If it's here when I have the funds, well sort something out as I'm on the Wirral. All the best in the meantime. BSB
4. I must actually congratulate you on being the only owner of this model with the foo fighter neck plate, I don't think anyone else has had one after guitar shops and suppliers stealing them! BSB
5. Cheers for the offer Buff, got a Marshall amp I love to pieces and a good back up but the SVT should be snapped up in no time. All the best Tazza & Karl, thanks guys
6. Trade wise: A decent Squier bass or guitar. Anything Epiphone Anything Gibson Fender Pbass, preferably nothing MIM standard unless modded? Anything else, tempt me?
7. He's from New Brighton, where the "mermaids" wash up in black big bags along the coast Or was it when Morrisons car park flooded?
8. You'll need to get this moved to the 'Wanted' area of the market place. All the best with your search
9. Stunning bass and a superb price! No name change required for the bassist who knows their quality instruments- however I think I know what you mean... If it was to say fender, it would be classed as a deluxe and £1K+ Shame it's active or I'd take it matey, all the best with the sale
10. You know what complememts a MM SR5? ..... A Fender Jaguar in black I'm pulling your leg, I just want this bass I always fancied a Fortress, perhaps because Chris Wolstenholme played one for a while and amongst it's fancy shape. At the best with the sale
11.
Mate i dont say its a Gibson.....thats the reason which i wrote "Les paul Type" Its a guitar which made as a hand made so i could named her "Paully" I wrote so dont be misunderstood ITS NOT A GIBSON BUT A HANDMADE GUITAR" If someone want to buy a custom guitar he can put the decal of:) Cheers
Haha I'm a gibson fanboy, what can I say?! I'm not trying to be picky or encourage a price drop (I'd actually love to what offers you'd get!), I'm just saying from my knowledge of past sales, eBay and other forums for "hand made" Gibsons, even to Custom Shop clones, have sold next to nothing... Which is a shame really. I just don't want you to be disheartened that no-one bites at it at this price and gets left behind. If my fingers were made for electric guitars, I'd be down on this! I bet it sounds smooth, even for it's official counterpart Maybe if you could get a video posted, could encourage a sale too. ATB
12. I don't think you'll get £500 for an obvious fake :-/

14. New and improved topic started.
15. Hi guys, Looking to sell a Fender Jaguar I recently purchased from here. Although I love the shape and tones achievable as a passive bass- I'm really not a fan of active basses and would rather sell it on and purchase something that suits me better. It's condition is used, I can only spot a knock on the headstock where the prev owner had left but otherwise a well kept instrument for it's age and working background It comes with a moulded soft case (not a gig bag, more like a soft hardcase), schaller straplocks, leather strap, a new battery and a new set of Rotosound Nexus strings. I also set the bass up and lowered the action for great playability and give it a more defined tone whilst passive or that growl when the active circuit kicks in! Only after what I paid for it and what I've actually put into the bass, bargain by any means for a Fender Jap bass. £550, I can deliver within a 20 mile radius of CH62 (wirral) or TF1 (Telford) postcodes or P&P at buyers expense. PayPal and cash accepted. UK only. Grae
16.
..... it is the Dog's Jacobs.
The what?
17. Surely this is more sadowsky than fender?
18. You'd be lucky to get that :-/
19. You'll want to C&P the "[IMG]" coding per image
20.
Quite a few places did advertise them as a Ltd Edition run in late 2011, not just these guys http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=7&ved=0CEIQFjAG&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.themusiczoo.com%2Fproduct%2F7223%2FGibson-Limited-Edition-Explorer-Bass-Silverburst%2F&ei=jNSxUpCULo3d7QaizIGQCw&usg=AFQjCNGouJjXowihK_1Ly0BlKWCJDLSfoA So, they will not be the easiest of basses to get hold of. Sorely tempted. Bump.
I guess so, maybe the other was a special edition? Lol Agreed, not going to be a common catch and a mighty fine bass as it is.
21. These were standard, the ltd Ed was the brownburst Explorer for £700 still, these had the finish on them, so, no wear and tear. Lovely bass, practically a Tbird but for £900 I'd be over the moon ^_^
22. On Image #3: what's the scale length?
