    I’m in, with the caveat that I’m already in discussions to buy an expression pedal but with one thing and another the purchase has been pushed into this year. Is that allowed? The only thing which may push me off the wagon this year is if the 100W Stoneham comes to fruition. Other than that I genuinely do not want or need anything for once….

    Mine is noisy but I only notice it at home; in a gig setting there’s plenty of other stuff noisier. In comparison the fan on the TE-1200 is whisper-quiet

    Scale length is a very personal thing - I can’t get on with anything beyond 32” nowadays! Nothing to do with blaming your tools 🤓

    This is very much a feeler; the ACG Mule I have for sale hasn’t moved so seeing if there’s more interest in this. What we have here a gorgeous example of Alan’s exotic wood options - the “Fractal Mac” ebony top is crazy cool, different and interesting. When I specced this bass I was playing relatively regularly with an 80s rock band; the original plan was a stained black body but seeing this top on Alan’s Instagram brought in some spec creep… So, the specs: 5 string (low B) 32” scale White limba body, fractal mac top 3-piece ash neck with carbon rods, asymmetric neck carve Rosewood board, zero radius Reverse 1+4 headstock with matching fractal mac veneer 2x ACG Overwound reverse PB ceramic pickups (essentially a P split pickup in a soap bar case, and reversed so treble side is nearer the neck) East/ACG P-Retro with active/passive switch, 4-way pickup select switch (bridge, both parallel, both series, neck) Hipshot B-type bridge, 17mm string spacing Gotoh tuners Currently strung with Newtone nickel strings Comes with Warwick Rockbag Price is for collection from Horley, Surrey. Postage not possible as I don’t have any suitable boxes, sorry!

    What’s your budget? TBH if it’s for practicing the power rating of the cab is even less useful than normal (plenty of threads on here explaining why); if you’re not going to be thrashing the amp then just get something that fits!

    Started 2022 with 6 basses. 0 out (yet, there’s still time…) 2 in, though strictly one was paid for in 2021, it only arrived in 2022. Looks like I’ll be finishing on +2 at 8. Best we don’t talk about amps and cabs… Definitely need to abstain next year.

    Probably the Trace Elliot TE-1200 helped over to these shores by @Russ. It’s a stupendously good amp and makes a exactly the noises I want. A very close call between that and my glorious new Zoot P5, though strictly that was a 2021 purchase 🤓

    Hello! The P-Retro was swapped out by Alan before I bought the bass, but I'm sure he would have one you could buy to put back in if you so desired. The coil positions on the BZ1 are: ceramic single coil -> ceramic and alnico parallel -> ceramic and alnico series -> alnico single coil. I did a little video to show the differences, albeit with a different bass - will find it and link it

    Well my wife’s car has decided that this is the right time of year to have a major issue. And of course muggins here gets to pay for that… So, for the Christmas period* only this is £1350 delivered to mainland UK *(now til 6th Jan)
