  7. Just answered another posting here today and said 'I get emotional just thinking about it' That got me thinking further about times when musical events had moved me, deeply. I can still recall that awful morning when I heard that John Lennon had died. The memory of that morning still has the power to make me sad, even now, to be honest. Something to do with the loss of further potential Beatles stuff etc And yet, when I spoke with others at the time, some said "Oh, he's just a musician. What's so sad about that" ? At the time, I did wonder if it was just me over - reacting. By the way, I'm not generally an over - emotional person. Have similar events moved you ? or are you not moved by such things ? Are we musicians an emotional bunch at heart really ? share, share, share please

  9. Hi everyone. Can you help ? A while ago, for some reason I can no longer remember, I bought an SWR Workingman's 2004 head - but it wasn't working (cue pun, irony etc.). It got stashed in the corner to wait for the time when I had the funds to attend to it. I now have the time and potential funds to sort it out, but I'm curious as to what I may end up with, as I've never actually heard one !!!!! What a situation to be in..... s'pose it's what you get when you take a gamble. It was a low price though. Do I hear 'Plonker' anyone ? It's a model made in Sun Valley, California. Does anyone have any experience of one of these heads ? I would really appreciate your thoughts. Also, I would appreciate your thoughts on how these heads sound with various cabs etc Thanks peeps T

  11. Remember hearing one luthier say that the grit form wet and dry has the potential to imbed in frets. Therefore, they avoided using it. Don't know if this is true, or if the opinion is widely held Just food for thought. Hope it's helpful T

  18. Did join a band a while ago that said a previous bass player had blown their PA speakers up - too heavy on the low frequencies for cabs that were not suited for them. Something to consider maybe ? Good luck with it T
