2.
The second coming?
Nope, this was. ^ And just so you can all see another of my many facets..... Couldn't let Benwhiteuk get ahead in the cross-dressing stakes, could I!
3. He's good cheers, you'll have to get down to a gig sometime and say hi! He's in both of the bands I am so check the links in my sig for details! (sorry if you already know that, but I'm not sure who you are!)
4. Matt's straight up, I've played along side him a few times what with us being Naarrich boys and all. So if my backing is worth anything, you can have it! (Don't let me down now bud!)
5. Well if Dood is going to break out the professional looking pics..........
6. Here's a couple I'm quite fond of: They were taken from the final set played at the Ferryboat in Norwich on the closing night.
7. I take more care with my playing now than I ever used to, but you've still got to give it the big'un!! Just pick your moments for the jumping around and gurn for the rest of the time so people think what you're doing is really hard! It's far more forgivable to make mistakes when you're thrashing around like there's a ferret in your kecks than if you're staring holes through your fretboard anyway. +1 for the eye contact too, do you remember that gig you went to when you were younger and your idol looked you right in the eye in your favorite song? Someone doesn't have to be your hero to give you that buzz either, it's a minor thing but it could help make someone in the crowds night!
8.
show us your neck!
Are you coming on to me?
9.
To be honest, If I've got a gig, I might just take my rig and go straight there after!

I'm going straight to a gig after too, should be fun
I'm also considering doing that, but it'll be quite a trek for me. Could anyone spare me trawling through the thread to find out what sort of times the bash is likely to be starting and finishing? Cheers if you can off the top of your heads, tell me to go jump and stop being lazy if you can't! I think my gig that night is in Cambridge so it's not as far back as home...
10. Hey Lee, I've pm'd you now. I thought after sending the message that the questions I've asked might be of interest to other potential buyers too, or at least you can all laugh at me for being a goober and asking dumb questions! You said there's a few dings on the bass, Is the big scrape above the pickups the worst one? I'm assuming that it wouldn't still be there if it were just a case of polishing it out, right? I know the Jazzmans (Jazzmen?) are really tonally varsatile, but I'm not much of a knob-tweaker (oof!) so how much like a Fender Jazz does it sound without much tweakery? I mean with centre notch/all one way adjustments and so on. I'm not bothered if it doesn't sound just like a Fender (what would be the point?) but something of that ilk is what I'm after, I like a nice crisp slappy sound to cut through the mix. Cheers!
11. I start a rotating shift pattern on Monday and I'm not happy about it, but I'm sure as hell not letting the bands down for work! We're going to have an official shift exchange scheme with forms to fill in and everything, and I might have just landed myself a job in a much smaller department - leaving about ONE person who I can actually ask to switch with me. I reckon it's going to be a chore, but I'm looking at it like this: It's only every other week, I still have every Saturday night free and I should be able to take holiday if I can't shift-swap. It wouldn't be such a bitter pill to swallow if we were getting a decent premium for working a rotating pattern, but we're getting stiffed with an extra 20% on any hours worked after 6pm (24 out of 78 hours). It's fkkking balls. *off topic rant over* It'll be alright Charic, as you've only just started gigging the band wont know it any other way so it shouldn't cause too much friction. Take the job, make all the time for the band that you can, and enjoy it! Good luck with it.
12.
im always Gassing for stuff and cant afford it
I'm currently gassing for a red Streamer Jazzman 5. Might well be in touch.....
13. Why are all the tasty basses for sale on here always so far away from Norwich???!!!!!
14. I never even play 4 strings anymore, but I'm very tempted to whack a bid on at that price. I hope whoever gets it appreciates it! She's luuuuurrrrrrvleeeeeeeeeeeeee...................
15. Nice work getting the ball-ends on the strings to all line up neatly, I always try to do that! They copied my tattoo for the inlays though.......
16.
(have had two Zons, four Mods, three Stati, one Steiny, four Alembics, + the rest)
And judging by your avatar, a very cute kitten! awwwww........
17. Unfortunaly I must be removed from the list, it seems I have a gig that day. Horse c*cks.
18. I had a thought about this..... When setting up my MIM Jazz 5 I can take all the height adjustment grub screws out of the bridge and it still has a higher action than I'd like. I don't think I've got the neck scooped to any great degree, although I might well buy a 24" steel rule to use as a straight-edge for setting up to soon. It seems almost as if the neck is set too far into the body. I've played around with trying to angle the neck by putting shim between it and the body at the join, but I think I've only ever tried that to raise the action (with the neck set straight) in the past. I did take it to a music shop (which has closed now) and ask to have the frets dressed, only to be told "Nah, probably just needs a bit more relief on the neck" then charged £15 to put on a set of strings I supplied. So what I'm thinking is: 1. Make sure I've got the neck pretty damn straight (using a straight edge) and check for un-even frets. 2. Put packing under the neck/body join, not to angle the neck but just to raise it up into the strings and more in line with the bridge saddles. Any thoughts/suggestions/recommendations?
19. I've got a box in my loft you can have if you're coming this way anytime soon Pete, 'cos you're a mate you can have it for a fiver.
20. I usually only break my low B or E strings, but thats because the E gets all the use and I rest my fingers on the B! Like Waynepunkdude said, I doubt the public will know so try not to let it bother you.
