  1. People who say "pacifically" rather than "specifically".
  2. Is that a young Jez Woodroffe (wearing glasses)?
  3. Nice work, Neep. You're making great progress on a very cool project, young man.
  4. Singing drummers. Men who don't wear a belt. The word "plane" when substituted for "aircraft" or "aeroplane". Jazz.
  5. Just goes to show that genius isn't always cleanius (or something).
  6. That's going to be a very cool bass.
  7. Just read the thread from the beginning, and it looks like a superb project. I had a cousin of this bass way back in the 1990's, a B Bass V (same instrument but with a headstock and five strings) and 17-year old me loved it. I'll be very interested to see the project coming to fruition, and it looks like you know your eggs around a piece of wood!
  8. You know, everyone, I absolutely adore reading through this thread. Seeing how everyone goes about gigging in their different ways, with so many different bands and styles on offer; I even enjoy the reports of gig by bands who play genres that I wouldn't play myself, because there's always something to be learned. Seeing what you lot get up to at your gigs is a real highlight of my (usually) weekend, and I wish I was out there gigging again. Thanks very much for sharing your experiences with the rest of us!
  9. Who doesn't like a big shiny knob or two, eh?
  10. If nobody turns up, how will they know if you're there or not?!
  11. Welcome to BC; if I have one piece of advice it's this: stay away from the sales section for the sake of your wallet.
  12. It's pretty much this - if there's a magic bullet I'm yet to find it!
  13. Have you got Divine Brown on standby?
  14. First: Plywood Hohner Arbour P-alike, which sounded.... reasonable. Go to - Black Player P "My" bass - the black P.
  15. Man, that's very nice indeed.... I had (and stupidly sold) a paisley Telecaster, and have wanted a bass in the same scheme for ages.
  16. Year started playing: 2023 Number of basses:4 Music theory:1 Technique:3 Groove:5
  17. If either of these takes your fancy I'll print you one.
  18. I'm a big fan of Rob's work; he lives just down the road from me and it's a treat to see his creations coming together. Did you commission this one?
  19. It's not something I've ever been interested in, somehow.
  20. Woah, lads - I'm really enjoying these clips!
  21. Blimey, Stub - hope you're back in action soon, old chap.
  22. Exactly... Doesn't make sense to me.
  23. I'm running a 4ohm 2x15, so I think that should be sufficient!
  24. Thanks for your comments, everyone. The Eden rig I normally use is a WTX 500 and it has all the punch I need. I'm a reasonably seasoned hand in terms of gigging etc and know that it's not a numbers game. I just quite like the tone of the Elf but it hasn't got the headroom of the Eden so I was wondering if there's a Trace rig that sounds like the Elf but has a bit more left in the tank, so to speak, when in a band context. Cheers, JRK
