  1. I had a similar experience in that same period. I look back on it and wonder how the hell the fallout isn't still with me.
  2. In my defence I was young, inexperienced and foolish, but essentially, yes - I buggered off! I left all my gear and went back for it under the cover of darkness (well, late afternoon).
  3. @Steve Browning That sounds like a good solution that will have the most positive effect on everyone concerned. It's tricky breaking up a band but it sounds like you found the right way to go about it.
  4. I've mentioned this before on BC, but I once left a band by going to the toilet during a rehearsal and escaping through the toilet window. There's more to the story, but the crux of it is that I ran away in the least dignified way.
  5. From the videos I've seen of your bands I don't think you've much to worry about in the playing stakes. I wish I was as terrible as you!
  6. General Incompetence, probably!
  7. Relent!
  8. I just wanted to be cool. I wish I had a better reason like most of the ones given above, but 15 year old me just wanted to be cool; my mates had a fledgeling band with three guitarists and a drummer, and I figured that the way in was to play (read "buy a ") bass and learn on the job. In reality I didn't know what a bass was for or how it was used, so I found it all a bit unfulfilling and changed to rhythm guitar by the time I was 20. Fast forward to a couple of years back when I decided that I wanted to play bass again, had a bit more experience and was more willing to learn my place, and the circle was complete. I'm much more at home on a bass now that I was as a teenager, and I'd say that although it's not a high bar I'm better on bass than I ever was on six strings. Whether I made it to being cool, though.....
  9. Can I ask what colour the pink lacquer is, please, and where you found it?
  10. https://www.songsterr.com/a/wsa/taylor-austin-dye-rest-in-peace-tab-s2078862t1/r2763330?open=editor Right, have a try with that...!
  11. That's a beautiful moment.
  12. https://www.songsterr.com/a/wsa/taylor-austin-dye-rest-in-peace-tab-s2071831t2/r2754229?open=editor I can't vouch for accuracy, but give this a try.
  13. Don't be silly; how would he have operated the loud pedal with a wooden leg?
  14. @solo4652 I might be able to help.... Let me see what I can do.
  15. I dated Liberace and made him dress up as your nan.
  16. I'm 1m80cm, c.90kg with broad shoulders. I play a P, and I look ridiculous, too. In all honesty I don't think the P has much to do with the ridiculousness, in my case!
  17. That's really tough; I hope you can bring it to an amicable end.
  18. We could blooming well do with some now; the farm is really struggling for water at the moment.
  19. Some very useable sounds there, Neep. I like.
  20. Bloomin' fabulous! What does it sound like?
