  1. Just choose an appropriately loud outfit; nobody will notice the bass.
  2. Welcome to Basschat, where your every bass-related fantasy will be taken care of.
  3. @MichaelDean, that's a great t-shirt, by the way!
  4. That looks grand; I also agree with you that a great result is easier to get in nitro than in poly.
  5. Wow, that looks gorgeous!
  6. The Ron Spencer Blues Explosion Leftover Wrack Nashville Pushy Demented Are No Boner M Theatre Of Hats Queens Of The Stone Ape Fister Nine Inch Fails
  7. Whoever Roger Walters is there must be a chance that he's less of a bellend than another bloke who plays a bass like that.
  8. The metric system is quite possibly the most beautiful and useful of humankind's creations. The Imperial "system" was fine before accurate measurement was an option but is now as archaic and useful as Betamax.
  9. Forever Failure - Paradise Lost
  10. Tell 'em you haven't used their umlaut so it's okay.
  11. That's a superb picture - I'll bet you're very pleased. What sort of music is she playing?
  12. Wow, this is going to be a real work of art.
  13. It's very heartening to read all of these reasons we have for doing what we do. They're all very personal to us as individuals, yet they also speak to the collective. Man.
  14. Some crackers there; I came late to the Levellers, by way of New Model Army, and really like playing 15 Years. Mate, your band rocks; heavy, moody and laden with pedals. What's not to like about that?!
  15. Mate, with that bass, that pedalboard and those shorts you have officially won at internetting.
  16. Ace! Did you do Fifteen Years? *And don't say "No, it was only an hour-long set"!
  17. What keeps me in the game? I'm aching to get back in the game, to be frank. My last band ended abruptly (and I still thin unnecessarily, but there you go....) and I'm trying hard to chalk it up to experience, learn what I can from the process and get back on the horse. I have a guitarist, but that's it in terms of musicians. I need at least a drummer and a singer, but when they're found I'm really looking forward to getting back in the saddle. I'm never going to be a great (or probably even good) musician, but I don't care too much about that, I just really enjoy gigging and helping people to enjoy themselves.
  18. Yeah, I saw... I can get some roughly "equivalent" Celestion TF1530e for £195 a par, though.
  19. Thanks Bill, that's very good of you indeed - I'll see what I can find in terms of those drivers.
  20. @Bill Fitzmaurice, here's an attempt at providing you with the dimensions. I'm not an expert at this by any stretch, but if you need anything else just let me know. Thanks ever so much for going out of your way to help me with this project.
  21. I checked, and you are correct - the spare driver I have has a cast chassis. I'm now on the hunt for some possible presses candidates, and will have to see if @Bill Fitzmaurice will do a few calculations for me. Thanks all - the BC hive mind at its' finest! JRK
  22. I don't know how to work all that out, which is a shame. Is it simply a case of measuring the internal size of the cab (presumably not the ports) and going from there?
  23. Well, that would explain the blown speakers!
  24. Ah, I hadn't thought about that; I think the originals are pressed and the other driver has a cast chassis. I'll check when I get home. Thanks for the tip!
  25. That's great to know - if the speaker currently in it is original there's nothing to tell me that it's an Eminence. The only distinguishing feature is the square magnet! I think I'll fit it with more modern speakers that can handle a bit more oomph, as dragging a(nother!) 2x15 around isn't going to be worth it unless it'll pump out a decent volume without dying again.
