  1. yep I’m liking Ultex better than nylon or Toretex and the triangle 1.14mm is my preferred pick at the moment
  2. I use 1.14mm Ultex and trying the triangle version. No problem with string rattle if you pick sensibly and don’t pick too hard but firmly. Removing mids in the amp EQ is important too to get more thump
  3. It’s the RockBoard Power LT XL and they are about £50.00 new with two 1A ( 1000mA) outputs plus cables etc You can daisy chain several pedals using the supplied leads Andertons have a coloured one in stock but mine is black They last about 8hrs from full charge depending on pedal load etc etc Plus no mains noise either 👍
  4. Mine ( RM800 ) goes click 1 quiet for practice, click 2 loud practice at home, click 3 loud enough for band practice with guitar and drums ( rock ) click 4 very loud band with Marshall stack and hard hitting drummer. Click 5 onwards never needed Note for vol 1,2,3 I was using a single 210 cab, volume 4 both 210 cabs It’s a loud amp but I guess most of its volume is at around 5 and the rest is a small increase. My Orange Little Bass Thing 500w is similar I feel so it’s likely yours is faulty You could always speak to Dave Green at Ashdown U.K. as very helpful
  5. Could you not just power your amp and use a battery pack power supply for your pedalboard? I have one and it’s pretty decent in powering a board up for pedals etc and lasts for many hours on one charge up Forget the Pedaltrain version as that is hopeless !
  6. Regarding the volume with the amp I too just turn down my bass volume if it’s too loud. You can turn the input gain down too. Ive run my RM800 up to volume 4/5 approx but would be interested to know if that’s all you get volume wise. Many amps do appear to be like this so maybe it’s more about what your speakers can put out too ?
  7. Anyone using the larger triangle shaped picks such as Ultex ? Ive just had some arrive and I’m liking the feel of them and I’m hoping they don’t turn in my fingers like the standard Ultex Im using 1.14mm Ultex
  8. Saw them as Million Dollar Reload in Belfast ( their final reunion gig ) and they were brilliant. That was two years ago I recall Phil ( lead singer ) is one of our Facebook buddies as is Kie the bass player Really nice guys and a great band
  9. Rehearsals last night and noticed my favourite pick was slowly turning after playing some fast up tempo songs and it got me thinking about turning the pick and using the larger more rounded corner of the pick Tried this today and it seemed to stop the pick turn Doesn’t Bobby Vega turn his pick ?
  10. The FS-2 footswitches are now back in stock at stores and Ashdown Just got one so I can add drive and sub mid song if required 👍 They have been out of stock for months !
  11. That’s a great cab but pricey I think compared to the PF series I had the SVT cabs in my younger years ending up with a 610 after trying 115 and 210 cabs !
  12. I had the PF115LF cab and loved it but it’s very big and heavy for what is a single cab They do have a ton of depth to the sound but again maybe too much low end for some. Hated the tolex covering as it’s very smooth so amp slides off it ( get a rubber mat ) If weight isn’t an issue or space then they are well priced cabs and two would make a huge rig
  13. I agree it can be easy at times but my new band in Suffolk has been searching for a singer for ages Such a lack of singers around excluding You Tube Wanabees !!
  14. The fan noise isn’t an issue apart from at home and studio use
  15. I believe it’s a lower cost amp and some say they are ok sounding Fan noise has been a well reported issue with this and it’s earlier variant I tried one a few years back but couldn’t stand the jet engine fan !
  16. Good luck with the gig 👍
  17. Stick an ad on JMB asking for jam buddies that might work
  18. Might of found a good drummer 👍
  19. It makes an interesting read Bill … so perhaps smaller box with more efficient higher powered cones can produce more bass. Would there be any benefit of say upgrading the small Ashdown 210 Neo cabs ( Sica speakers ) with higher powered 10” speakers ? They are rated total 300W and I believe even Ashdown have uprated cabs to 500W Interested if my limit is the compact sealed cab or a combination of cab volume and speaker or speaker itself ?
  20. With the trend to go smaller or certainly lighter are we seeing cabs that are lacking in low end depth as a sacrifice to weight ? Not referring to the high end stuff but the everyday offerings from manufacturers Point in case is the cab up for sale on here large heavy 212 600w 4ohm cab which I would imagine would be a lot fuller than my two small Neo Ashdown cabs ? Thoughts ?
  21. Tempting but still too high in price for me ( ps I’m in Suffolk so could collect ) Been looking for a larger cab recently
  22. I would say it’s faulty !!
  23. I’m also running things and don’t mind it really if I find the right people This is probably my tenth band and my very last !!
  24. Is it a PBass or bass with normal pickguard ? they pickup static and make a crack sound when your fingers touch it Shouldn’t be very loud though
  25. So my old “new” band split due to job changes and the usual issues New function party band plan isn’t happening either !! one last try to put my rock covers band together as soon as I find a decent drummer in Suffolk So few musicians around, lack of good singers and drummers making it near on impossible to form a band !! If this is the future then it’s likely all my gear will be sold off and I will pack it all in … so frustrating grrrr
