Thanks for the tips so far Initially thus will only be for vocals and subs not needed so probably 12” tops and most likely active speakers Transport and storage isn’t a problem and we have vocal mikes etc and will add later fold back monitors For now this is for band rehearsal and pub gigs with a moderate loud band. Im trying to get a feel for wattage so it’s decent for most venues from large pubs to small pubs and the occasional small hall What about brands such as Yamaha, Peavey, Studiomaster, JBL etc etc

Our newly formed rock covers band needs to find a PA system for our female vocalist It will at this stage only be used for vocals at small to medium pub / club gigs Any advice on kind of wattage we should aim for as a system Our singer has a powerful voice if that helps but we don’t want to be under powered in the vocal department!! Was thinking two stand mounted PA speakers ( no subs ) such as 10 or 12” tops and a small mixer either powered or not depending on if active cabs or passive Will only need around four channels at this stage Advice ?

I have the ABM210H EVO IV Pro Neo cabs and I think they are very similar to the RM cabs. The ABM cabs have choices of fronts, mine are black metal grill and I think a little heavier than the RM cabs which may be the timber used ? My first reaction was how small they are for a 210 cab but they are loud and punchy

I’m so jealous.. I wish I could be rehearsing but we are still waiting to find a decent lead guitarist So many musicians have gone to ground understandably

Are the rehearsal studios open from the 12th April ?? Do you have to wear a face covering ?

I’ve looked at this a few months back and in the end got the Ashdown RM800 The RM500 is great too Had a Markbass LM111 a while back and it’s a nice amp but wasn’t for me Peavey Minimax ruined by noisy fan even the new version suffers this Many rave about TC stuff but some say they are a bit sterile sounding ?? I think most Class D heads are very similar in truth with a few different features and tone tweeking ability. A very good low cost 500W no frills amp is the Ashdown Original 500 I also tried Ampeg PF800 but it wasn’t for me either. Plus Ashdown are U.K. based and offer 5yr warranty and great service if needed They also do good cabs too

A few years back I played an Ampeg SVT CL 300w valve head and 610 cab I now play the Ashdown RM800 !! Do I miss valve amps, not sure I do really and having a lightweight Class D head is a joy to carry around. I think they do give you a warmth in the tone but in most band small / med sized gigs I don’t think you would hear a lot of difference in my opinion

Are you selling the Ashdown? How wide is it as some are wider than the new Neo Cabs

How about 3M Helicopter tape ? they use it on .. well helicopters ! but also bikes numerous colours or clear and easy to stick on curved shapes Not sure how the glue would effect the headstock though ! Rhino tape is similar tape too

In my guitar days turning your guitar volume down always had a negative result on the sound / tone So question do you find backing off on the Bass guitars volume control make any difference to the general tone of your sound ? It’s nice to able to back off on the volume control on certain songs or perhaps when reverting to pick playing and then back to fingers etc Comments ??

Those 210H Pro Neo cabs are very punchy and full sounding. Not as deep as some ported cabs but deep enough and good dispersion too As a stack you can easily hear yourself and it looks good too !! The Tweeters are very bright so I turned both off. Can carry in one hand and very compact Worth checking out

You could ask Ashdown to check it out but sounds wrong if the VU needle is where you said and the red light comes on ! Is it a really hot output bass ?? I would definitely turn the input gain down until you no longer see the red light

Just ordered a second matching cab for the ABM210H This will make a nice rig I think and so light too

Yep the Original 500 has been also dropped but the smaller Original HD1 ( Red one ) is still available on the website If you look at the number of heads they offer it’s huge so I’m not surprised the slower selling models have gone Only just discovered that the RM800 has different feet spacing ( screwed on ) compared to the RM500 that has stick on feet I believe ?? and the feet are wider apart which sits on the top handled cabs better

Just noticed the RM300 head has been discontinued Ashdown said most people purchased the 500 or 800 models I did see Andertons have ten in stock if anyone interested?

My Ampeg PF115LF was up for sale on here and now sold Its ported but gets better reviews than the sealed version !

It’s not easy finding rugs that match rigs but I managed to source one 👍🤟
