1.
Ooh - a hipster bass! GLWS!
Haha indeed! That's the real reason why I have to sell it. Maruszczyk is way too mainstream now...
2. Hi everyone. Up for sale is my Maruszczyk Elwood 4p. I bought this used in 2009 (before Maruszczyk was cool). I have gigged it, but not excessively. Mostly it's been played at home. Very good condition with all electronics working great. There are a couple of scratches and dings on the back and underside of the body, which you can hopefully see in the photos. The frets show no visible signs of wear. It's currently strung with a new set of Elixir roundwounds 105-50. The gig bag is slightly worse for wear - the front pocket has a bit of a tear, and the low zip is stuck. Working on this to get it loose, but the top one works fine so the bass still comes in and out of the bag easily. I think most people know by now that the build quality of these basses is of a high standard. I'm only selling it because I've had a 32" scale Maruszczyk Elwood custom made that suits me better, so this one is not getting used. In a nutshell, this would be a great Jazz Bass for the bassist who doesn't get on with the regular skinny Jazz necks. More like a slightly chunky P bass neck on a 70s style Jazz body. Looking for [s]£500[/s] £450. No trades thank you. Still looks the same as this. Hopefully previous owners don't mind!) 3. I bought Rhys' Polytune. Good communication, good delivery time, and pedal came in pristine condition in the original box. No probs at all! Would happily recommend. Cheers Rhys!
4. Lovely bass! Where abouts are you based?
5. I'm not too qualified in this as I don't actually own one, but I've gig shared the AD200b on a bunch of gigs. I always found that same muddiness with the 810 and 410 cabs, never liked them personally. But with their 115 cab, whole different story. The sound was clear as day to me, loved that rig. So yeah, maybe try some different cabs if you can?
6. Another vote for Cog Grand Tarkin! Most useable big muff I've found, and I've tried a few. Can't imagine why I'd swap it for anything else!
7. Thanks for your quick responses guys. I've actually just managed to hammer them out using the socket idea - no glue at all as it turns out! (DUH!) Okay great, I shall have a look into those Gotoh tuners as well. Cheers everyone!
8. Hi everyone, So I've been looking into buying some lightweight tuning pegs for my Gibson Grabber, leaning towards Hipshot Ultralites at the moment, but if anyone could recommend anything else they like better, please do. Anyway that's not why I'm writing this. The bass currently has some old Schaller tuners, and when I removed them to check what size lightweight tuners I'll need, I found that half of the mechanism has been superglued in. Hopefully these photos show what I mean... I'll need to get this part out in order to put the new tuners in obviously, but I've no idea how to do that. Is there some sort of solvent that might seep into the cracks and get rid of the glue? Or will I just have to bash them out with some sort of hammer and chisel scenario? Any ideas anyone? Cheers in advance!
9. Price drop bump. Demon now £95 posted.
10. Two great sounding Ashdown ABM cabs for sale, both good working order. [s]2x10 - [/s][s]£100[/s] Sold Cosmetic scuffs, but everything working great including the tweeter. [s]1x15 - £120[/s] Sold The washers that hold the jack inputs in place have been broken, but it shouldn't be a hard fix, and not a problem if you're using the speakon input like I have been doing. Also comes with good quality leather look pvc vinyl "Hot Covers" cover, worth £43 new. Reason for sale is that my single 4x10 is just fine for my needs at the moment. Demoing and collection welcomed from my house in Broadstone, Dorset. Cheers!
