  1. I'd prefer to pack and drop at depot.
  2. I was interested to see what a jaw dropping price drop looks like.
  3. I can't see the price drop, only the original asking price of £1700?
  4. Sorry but that's the current situation.
  5. No worries and yes, the original price entered cannot be changed. However, adding the new price in the thread title and the body of the original post makes a new price clear for all to see.
  6. On eBay for buy it now £550. What does that give you after fees? Perhaps that could be your price on here?
  7. To think that Lemmy (not known for being quiet) used to drive a Marshall 4x12 and 4x15 stack with a 100 watt Superbass head. Volume is way more to do with speakers than simple watts. I know there's a lot of humour around heavy iron watts but this amp drives even a single Bergantino HD210 to its limit with ease.
  8. I use this moderately powered (compared with the current trend for 800 watts!) head with a single 8 ohm Bergantino HD210 and it is more than loud enough for any decent sized pub gig that I do.
  9. Interesting though it is, you'd be better to conduct this type of conversation via the personal messaging facility.
  10. Thank you. Does the price include shipping costs? Thanks again.
  11. Will you be adding some photos of the actual head and gigbag to this thread later?
  12. I wouldn't be selling this one if I didn't have another three Trace Elliot amps!
  13. Look into the light, not around the light, into the light......
  14. I believe Series 6 started around 1989 so this will predate that.
  15. It's only the Trace Elliot logo that has a bulb backlighting it but the fluorescence of the whole front panel under UV light is beautiful indeed.
  16. In my experience, one thing a heavy bass does well is expose poor playing posture quicker than a lightweight.
  17. John uses ebony mostly on basses it seems, so I reckon it'll be ebony. I'd definitely seek advice from Jaydee before adjusting the truss rod.
  18. True, but it was a weird 60s looking thing that seem to sell for a small fortune in Denmark Street nowadays.
  19. 1976; I was 14 years old and used my savings to buy a dreadful Kay bass with flatwounds from a mate (drummer) for £25, a Sound City 120 (much better than I appreciated at the time) from Rockbottom in Croydon (can't remember how much but probably the cheapest amp they had) plus an 18" folded horn cab that probably came from a larger theatre/PA system. Crap tone with no definition at all but could be heard half a mile away from the school music room where my first band practiced in our lunch hour. Soon after got a Shergold Marathon and Carslbro Stingray head; still s#@t!! but I was hooked by the low end.
  20. Thanks again Phil. All looking good. Are there any dings on the back of the neck please? Did you paint the machine head bodies red? Thanks.
