  1. Surely if boxes is what you make, then boxes is what you aim to sell as many of as possible....
  2. Excellent.... That is all
  3. I'm a big fan of that! wish i could justify another bass!
  4. Yeah mine's neck was super awesome cooltastic xl but thats still one stunning looking stingray, would definitely have that one back without a doubt, but had to sell to get my 72 jazz
  5. bump
  6. I had one just like that, stunning bass
  7. Bristol
  8. Great bass! used to be mine
  9. Hello, I'm selling this one as it really is just taking up space and not being played! Excellent sound from this thing, excellent combination of upgraded active bartolini pickups and a bartolini preamp (worth more than the bass, probably!). Generally in good condition, some war wounds but it's probably at least 10 years old, feels very sturdy and reliable and has a very reasonable playability, neck reminds me of a lakland 5502's Anyone who knows these basses will know they were astounding value for money, (I know a pro who still uses one of these!), with the added bonus of vastly upgraded electronics! Bridge saddle on the B string is far back as I think it's got the wrong scale length strings on, theyre almost new, though and will come with the bass. £170 anyone? If noone wants it i'll defret it and stick on a high C!
  10. I will stick to my ''dumb'' guns and add this... Balderdash! Particularly where frets are concerned, A/B tests are all well and good but i'd much prefer to see one where someone records 10 identical basslines, with the wood random throughout, and we can see how much those people who think it matters can really ''hear''!
  11. Mine was stunning in both playing and sound, but I dont like the lack of fret markers (it's like playing a bar of chocolate!) and the big phallic top horn makes people chuckle.
  12. End of the day, the biggest difference is a visual one, and sure, it adds to how you 'experience' playing the thing which can directly or indirectly influence the tone, but pickups and pickup location, strings and possibly bridge are, in my experience about 100000 times more decisive on the brightness or 'snap' or *insert vaguely understood word i.e ''growl'' here*
  13. I am subscribing to the 'what a fat load of crap' camp here.
  14. Nice, I have one in a reasonably rare wine red colour, do ask about the weight though, mine is incredibly heavy!
  15. Great price for something that is the best possible colour ever, ever.
  16. That's crazy talk, you crazy!
  17. Wow! Oh...hang on
  18. Anything over 1GB? 1gb for a photo?! must be clearer than real life!
  19. Great price Dave, someone have this off him! I've used it once or twice and it's brill.
  20. Bump appreciated, got a guy on here coming to see it Wednesday so I'm officially putting this baby on hold!
  21. Proper bass amp.
  22. Yeah it does play stunningly with rounds on, I've got roto flats on at the moment so it sounds as good as it looks but it is, frankly, horrible to play, I love the tension of flats to pluck, just not to fret! Thomastik flats on their way from America. It also wears very nicely, mine's already got a fair few battle scars and ''rash'' from my belt buckle but frankly I don't mind too much as it's definitely a keeper. But it sounds great, with foam mute, set flat through my little EA iAmp 500 and ebs 12.
  23. Doing a ''just like the real thing'' soul review band so I sold my Lakland 5502 to a nice guy on here, and got me one of these.. Absolute Ebay bargain, was in V+R for over a grand!!!! Absolute joy to play, amazing sound, light weight, came with all the American Vintage case crap too, fab!
