1. There's still another trace V6 on evilbay, flightcased without cabs is about £220 at the mo
 2.
Glad to hear Tokai is going well with VBA and 7400 cab. My back is better as well . Enjoy
Glad to hear your back is better Francis! Have you sorted a replacement amp yet? Further to your thoughts on upgrading the speakers on the Marshall cab, I have done a little research on the matter. There is a line of thought that indicates unless you are playing stadiums or outdoor venues sometimes it is better to use less efficient speakers. Especially with a 400 watt valve amp playing medium sized indoor venues The output of the valves is absorbed less efficiently and therefore you work the valves without making peoples ears bleed. What do you think?
 3.
I didn't think they had crap drivers!
Can anyone give me an opinion on the V6 vs VBA400?
 4.
here,s one for you-epiphone t-bird pro 4,good finish and very nice in black.they have an active circuit which gives a nice array of useable sounds. It has a maple sandwich through neck which allays the fears of the mahogony necked gibsons which can fall off at the joint if you bang it off something. They are a different animal to the other epiphones, try one out nothing to lose.
I like the passive tone, the Thunderbird is like a Harley Davidson, full of growl and intent. For me using an active circuit would change the beast in to something else completely.
 5. Sold my Ampeg VR Classic a few months ago intent on getting myself a Trace V4, V6 or V8. There has been nothing going and so getting twitchy I recently acquired from 3Below on here his beastly Marshall VBA400 and matching Marshall 2x15 cab which sounds amazing. IMHO it sounds better than my Ampeg which I played through SVT810 cab, doesn't sound as muddy yet retains growl. Anyway just seen 2 different Trace V6's on eVilbay today, what are the odds of that?!?! Part of me thinks get one as it's been a dream of mine for years, but I'm now so happy with the Marshall Illl probably regret it.
 6. Thanks for the advice, those lull pickups are too expensive, I may as well just buy a Gibson. Are there any others that would improve my guitar?
 7.
My advice is stick to your Tokai. Ask yourself why you are upgrading? Given you seem really happy with the sound you are getting now, just because it says Gibson doesn't mean it's going to be an improvement for you. The Tokais look the bollocks to me and looking at pics those shape Pick Ups could easily be swapped forsomething high end.
Any recommendations for pick-up upgrades?
 8. Hey up guys, need a bit of advice please. I currently have a Tokai Thunderbird (in white ) which I bought new about a year ago. I love it, it suits the type of stuff I play perfectly. Works a treat with my newly acquired VBA400 and matching 2x15 marshall cab. I even prefer the Tokai over the Rick, a Deluxe USA Precision and original Stingray I've owned previously. When I bought it I made a conscious decision to buy Tokai over Epiphone from the reviews I read. Now I am toying with the idea of upgrading it to a Gibson, but I don't know if it's worth it. I am quite happy with the build quailty and feel of the Tokai, just wondered if the Gibson with it's more expensive pick-ups and higher-quality woods would sound that much better?
 9. Lookin for some help peeps. In a covers band, we generally to indie rock but are having to sell out for a party gig and want to do Living On A Prayer by Bon Jovi, cheesy I know but you gotta cater for the audience. So anyways was trying to figure out how to do the whoa woah thing, sounds like they use a vocoder or something any ideas? Thanks in advance!

 16. Just wondered how powerful this is, I have had an SVT-CL running through an SVT 810 which was too much and I couldn't push the valves hard enough to get the great warm tone without destroying peoples eardums and then I've had transistor amps that clip when pushed hard. Was looking for a smaller valve amp that I could really push, but this may be too small. Am doing a gig to 250 people soon in a large function room, we play pop, indie and rock.
 17.
If I had the money (and the room) I'd have this. I've always wanted one of these cabs
What kind of head would you need to drive it?
 18. How does this compare to say an ampeg svt810?
