  1. eeugh just searched for finger calluses on google images - I don't recommend it! Recently (last few weeks) I haven't been practicing as much as usual which is probably 30 minutes every day. On the other hand, though not literally, I wouldn't say that I have much in the way of callusses to start with. So I guess that is the point I need to man up a little.
  2. Hi guys, Thanks for your comments. I suspect that you are right about playing too hard. To be honest from my view that's good news as compared with other types of technique modification it should be fairly easy to lay off a little or adjust the amps volume. In terms of strings I just use Ernie Ball strings which are Nickel I believe. I was wondering about trying some others to see if it made a difference but not sure what types are best. I think rehearsals do lead to a certain amount of soreness but less because we play less at rehearsals and of course there is less adrenalin going on. I think that what I will do is switch to pick for a few songs and see how that goes. Next weekend I have gigs on Friday and Saturday night so I will need to be extra careful to lay off on the. Mike
  3. Am I doing something wrong? I play in a covers band and we usually do two one hour sets. Mainly I play finger style right handed but I have a problem with my finger tips. I am noticing that my right hand finger tips are quite sore after playing - I was wondering whether this is typical or is it a sign of poor technique, playing too hard, being feeble etc. Love to hear any opinions on this. I use a pick on a couple of songs and I am thinking that I will start using it more if I cant rectify this.
  4. I have an old small practice cabinet for sale. It is a good quality cab, possibly hand made, with corner protectors and two round metal grilles etc. Takes a jack plug input and is loaded with two speakers that HH 70w models and some sort of tweeter and two port holes. Could also be used as a drum fill monitor. It is very solid but surplus to my requirements. Pick up from Bristol, and can deliver locally for fuel. Occasionally I travel to Milton Keynes and Hatfield so might be an option there. Interested in hearing about trades for: pedals like MuTron / Envelope Filter or a tuner Rack mounted pre amp Condition of above can be working or not as I am a dab hand at repairs. Cash adjustments where required. Will add some pics or can email them.
  5. Reduced to £50 but the wheels are no longer included as they are proving too useful with my PA. Collection / Viewing available most evenings in Bristol BS6

  9. Great to deal with Tom on a recent speaker purchase. I Had difficulty making arrangements at my end but Tom stuck to his word and the deal was eventually sealed. Very considerate person and provided excellent opportunity to check out the gear being purchased and really encouraged me to check it thoroughly before accepting. Could not recommend more. PS provided chat, tea and biscuits (Ginger Nuts) so what more could you ask for.
  10. Hi TraceAmp I am curious about the world of rack mount. Can you tell me how old this unit is and whether there is much crackles from the pots or jack sockets? Cheers,
  11. I hope it's ok to list cases in this section? I have a very solid flight case for my Hohner B2A for sale. It's a very solid case and in good condition although I don't have the key. The interior is shaped for two (a brace of) Hohner B2A bass guitars. I wanted a B2A a few years ago to help a bad back situation. Strangely when I found one to buy it came as a pair in this case previously owned by a Gothic metal band of some repute called the "Whores of Babylon". So I bought the pair, sold one, kept one and ended up with a case that I don't need. It looks like a good guitar case is over £100 new so I suggest that £50 for a second hand one is fine. I guess the case could be altered to fit an electric guitar. Collection from Bristol is best. I guess shipping is an option but it I am not sure how much that would be £10-£20 I suppose Pics: [attachment=125591:2012-12-18 11.01.28.jpg] [attachment=125592:2012-12-18 11.01.46.jpg] [attachment=125593:2012-12-18 11.02.09.jpg] [attachment=125594:2012-12-18 11.02.44.jpg]
  12. Delivery around Bristol and surrounding area is definitely an option. Also I travel regularly though occasionally maybe every month or so to milton Keynes and Hatfield so on route may also be possible.
  13. Yes please install the tapatalk pluggin. Much easier and will drive up site usage. Don't think it costs the site anything to try it out.
  14. Hi Jimixy, thanks for the enquiry. Sorry but I am afraid I am only selling as a pair as I really need the space and frankly the cash.
  15. Hi, got a great bass stack for sale here. This is the Marshall MB450H head and corresponding cabinet MBC15 plus high quality speakon interconnect. Amp has two voicings: one nasally one for modern RnB tone and a warmer channel for rock and deep reggae using one ECC83 tube. and the neat bit is there is a blend control for merging the voicings. Very versatile and actually quite light weight and easily powerful for most gigs. Google the specs and reviews there is usally loads out there. Also Marshall site has the PDF manual. The history to this one is that I bought it as a back up amp a while back but haven't needed it and really it is just taking up too much space. Condition is a bit scuffed around the edges but the tone more than makes up for it and the amp hasn't been pushed at all. Currently listed on gumtree for £300 but will take £250 from a BassChatterer. Not interested in trades sorry. [attachment=118605:20120916_132159.jpg] [attachment=118606:20120916_132221.jpg] [attachment=118607:20120916_132243.jpg]
  16. Hi, If the speakers are still available I am very interested but I don't think I could pick up for a while as about to go on hols. What's you're "in a hurry" timescale cut-off. Mike

  19. Hi Just bought a faulty QSC RMX450 Power Amp from Stevie. Payment completed very quickly with updates all along the way. Delivery arranged and unit arrived exactly as promised well packed, precisely as described. Opened the unit up to start tracking down the fault and again the description of the inside of the amp was completely accurate. Thoroughly recommend the BassChatter to do biz with. MikeyDee
