1.
My pair - both short scale
Two beauties, but I really like the fretless.....
2. I bought a pedal from Sean. Fantastic comms and beautifully wrapped. Very happy to deal with him again.
3. Planning to upgrade to the 800+, as being a fretless player the individual gain controls for the mids would be a lovely thing to have. Handmade in California, the amp puts out 800 Watts @ 4/2 Ohms, or 400 Watts @ 8 Ohms. Tone shaping is handled by a 4 band EQ Section comprised of BASS, LOW MID, HIGH MID and TREBLE Controls. There is also a DEEP switch, that adds a little boost at 50Hz, and a VOICING control which allows fine-tuning of your sound from a more “flat” response to a radically scooped midrange sound with the lows and highs boosted. Weight: 5lb, 2.6kg Balanced XLR Line Out with Pre/Post, Line/Mic & Ground Lift Switches Active/pAssive switch Mute switch Headphone Output Auxiliary Input Protection & Limit LED Indicators 2 Speakon Speaker Output Jacks Fan Cooled This amp has been lightly rehearsed and never gigged. It's in mint condition (apart from some light scratches on the bottom and a tiny nick on one corner of the front panel - no idea how they got there!), comes with the gig bag, and ships in the original box. £[s]749[/s] [s]725[/s] 700 couriered to your door in the UK. 4.
Cheap = crap Best quality/price ratio is our very own OBBM, aka RockWire cables.
This, many times over
5. Try this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wckGOCu-Omc
6. Lots of good suggestions here, but as always there really is no "best" because we all have different tastes, needs and budgets. I play fretless around 95% of the time, and I have owned a lot of very nice examples over the years such as a factory fretless 71P, Veillette Archtop, Status S2, Wal, Ken Smith and an ACG. But, the one that speaks to me the most is without doubt the one I own now - the Franz Sirius. Not cheap mind
7.
That would be for me to know and you to guess.
Is it the one we talked about previously? If so, I want to try!!!!!
8.
Just recently got hooked onto Spector having bought a Shorty. Just pulled the trigger on another, not a Shorty but short scale.
Do tell us more Dave
9.
I don't know if there is a "Quote Of The Year 2016" thread but this would be my nomination. I get the feeling I will be using this phrase in the not too distant future
+1
10. Have you had it less than 30 days?
11. It's a Sunny SYS1421-0612-W3U Centre Positive 12V DC 0.5A Brand new in box £12 posted 2nd Class Recorded
12. I bought a Providence Dual Bass Station from Harry (my second, never should have sold the first) and he was a pleasure to deal with. Put in on hold for me for a week while I sorted payment, sent it tracked and kept me informed all the way. A pleasure to deal with - he's one of the good guys
13. I've tried one of these. Incredible cab for the size: articulate and loud, goes deep too. Two of them would make a very potent stack. Proper pocket battleship cabs
14.
are they 4Ohm each?
Yes
15. Nice review, nice bag, good score on the freebie! How heavy is it though? I always love the idea of double bags, but they get serioulsy weighty with two basses in them!
16. I'd have had them if my Tecamp cabs sold, but no one wants a 4 ohm cab
17. I sold a(nother) strap to Mark. Very smooth and easy deal. He's a good 'un.
18. I sold a strap to Tom. Smooth deal. He's a BC regular and I'd happily deal with him again.
19.
walbassist, I just wanted to say thanks for spotting the strings at the Gallery. They arrived in the post this morning. All looking good.
My pleasure. Glad you got sorted
20. Super smooth transaction. Anyone who starts their PM with "Good day dear chap" is okay by me
21. I'd love this. Sadly my Tecamp cabs aren't selling
22. If you have a trawl through the site you'll find lots of similar threads. Mono Sleeve, Mono Vertigo, Protec Contego, Protection Racket, Gator ProGo all get lots of love, as do others. It really comes down to what you like, and which aspects of a gig bag are most important to you personally. As for me, I like the Mono Vertigo the best of all the bags I've used.
23. I'd have thought a 2x12 would do the job you describe, although I am not familiar with the TC range of cabs. What amp are you using?
