3. Liam, you'll hate this eventually, so to save you any heartache bring this to my house on Monday and I'll take it off your hands.....purely as an act of kindness..
 4. Thanks John. I've emailed the guy. Bout an hour's drive, so not too far. John
 5. Had a bit of a think on this. I would consider an EUB for £600-700 too. I had a Bassix for a brief time and that was good. Thanks, John

 7. Some numpty knocked my DB over last night, broke the neck from the "heel" joint and pulled part of the back away. The action was so high you needed a bus to get to the fingerboard, the intonation and tuning were shot and the strings out of alignment with the neck. This all happened after we'd set up and went out of the venue for 20 minutes before first set. Obviously I didn't see it happen, and no-one has admitted to seeing it, let alone knocking it over. Show had to go on, great crowd (apart from the twat who mullered my bass) really up for a bop. Spent 2 x 45 minute sets using every muscle to press strings to board, tuning up half a dozen times through each song whilst playing and singing lovely bouncy little numbers, being told by the other singer to keep smiling Anyway, lots of moral tales out of this I know.......one of which GET INSURANCE!!! too late for me on this one. The bass is off to the repairers tomorrow, and in the mean time I need to buy a back up. Got sod all money, and what I did have was going to buy Gareths' G&L L1500...but not now. So any recommendations for a DB, for £600-£700?? It will more than likely sit at home once my other is repaired, but it would be nice to have a back up if needed. Some love for G4Music carved for bout £750, 2nd hand would be ok, if I could get to pick it up (I'm in west country). Sorry for whingeing tale above, really unhappy today. John

 11. Dave bought a tuner from me. Prompt payment, no issues. Many thanks! John
 12. Cheers Dubs. Think I'll stick to the 'Bay, bit of a "wider" audience. The end date could work either way I guess? People bored at home, still hung over, still p@@@sed, or got a bit of cash for Christmas might go for them with a "bugger it" bid. Or everyone's out/away so no one will buy them, or someone will get them for peanuts....but right now I can't sell used volcanic ash to Iceland mate. John
 13. Good point Mr Fear. Many apologies for putting these in the for sale section. I will ask the mods to move.

 17.
I'd be interested if it's still available
Hi, if you can get it from Dorset, it's yours. John

 19. One of these: http://www.djmmusic.com/itemdesc.asp?ic=CBS1 Pictures to come later. Fully functioning stand, but the foam lining on the supports is beginning to wear, although still functional. Free to a good, or bad, home. Pick up, or you pay whatever it costs me to send. John

 21.
I read an article in this month's Musician, The MU magazine, that Bill Bruford hasn't worked for two years because he doesn't feel up to the job. He just doesn't want to play. If Bill's not up to it what hope is there for the rest of us? Anyone else heard this story?
I read his autobiography earlier this summer. Really interesting. He's just a normal bloke who got fed up with dealing with knobs in the music industry, stroppy musicians, touring, being away from home/family. Also suffered from huge self doubt. I felt a lot better after reading it. I realised that if someone as talented and esteemed as him can feel like that, then so can a nobody like me. I choose what I do so much more now, without feeling that I have to play at any opportunity.........sometimes I turn down playing so I can spend a night in watching a crap DVD with the kids... I'm no less a musician for it. He has some interesting thoughts on Yes's lyric writing too!!! made I laugh, pretentious nonsense.
